Don´t miss the castle
by GuntherHK
If you are travelling in the southeast part of Belgium don´t miss little town Bouillon near French border. In Bouillon you should visit the old castle on top of the hill by the river.
In the castle is tamed birds and they have show every day (once in hour??) Check the times. The show is quite impressive. There is nominal admission fee into the castle.
Bouillon

Bouillon is in the Ardennes, is set upon th Semois River and is a premier resort town.
Apparently there is plenty here to do but we found it more a place to relax and take in the scenery which includes a very impressive stronghold - Chateau de Bouillon - a medieval castle whose last Lord - Duke Godefroid de Bouillon, made rather an impression in history. Godefroid, who died in Jaffa in around 1097, is forever remembered by his statue in the heart of Place Royale (Brussels) but his chateau still dominates the little and rather sleepy town of Bouillon.
Bouillon and its lovely castle

You think Bouillon is a soup? You are right, but Bouillon is also a very nice village in the Ardennes. It is situated in the south of Belgium, close to the French border.
The village lies very picturesque in the valley of the river Semois. In the loop of the Semois, you'll find the "Chateau Fort", the fantastic medieval castle. From there and from other parts of the village, you have nice views over the valley. There are several walking paths along the river or in the forests at the hills and I would have loved to stay there longer!
