Not your average Hilton

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 19, 2006

OK we´d been wanting to stay here for years, but was always too pricey. We managed to get a decent deal over Easter 2006.

Not a great price, but we were prepared to go for it.

What we wouldn´t do is go for breakfast EUR25 each is having a laugh.

There´s much better value and, in our view more atmosphere in one of the small cafés that Antwerpen excels in.

Unique Quality: The hotel is superbly located in the heart of the historical city centre across the square from the Cathedral.

It is architecturally beautiful.

Last stay was really a treat as I was guided up to the 5th and Executive floor straight into an executive room.

I love a big bathroom and I also love a big hotelroom with a huge bed all to myself.

Small things like what bathfoam, soap, and other extra's on the bath desk is small, but nice treats to a 2 children full time working mother. A big nice bathrobe and slippers also just waiting for me after a long warm bath together with a nice glass of champagne.

Pure luxury!!!

Unique Quality: Very central and very nice hotel.

Directions: Center - shopping center next to the hotel

The Famous Hotel

by written on October 15, 2005

This is the hotel which will definitely catch your attention as soon as you get to Green Square. This imposing building from the late 19th century dominates the right side of the square.

The building used to be the 'Grand Bazar', 1 of the leading Belgian department stores.

Behind it, if you're into shopping, you'll find a pleasant and spacious covered shopping gallery.

Money to waste?

by written on September 18, 2004

If you think about staying in this hotel, than I advice you to skip all my VT pages, because I am not that sort of people you would speak to. You would not eat in the restaurants where I go, and you would avoid pubs I find cozy.

Unique Quality: in the city centre, a 35 minute drive from the airport

Directions: Hotel Hilton is an integral part of the Grand Bazaar, a modern shopping centre. It is located on the Groenplaats, in the main business and leisure district.

Great Service

by written on September 12, 2004

While I haven't stayed here, I have been here twice to ask for directions, and have received wonderful assistance from the front desk staff. Thought I'd put a plug in for them here for that reason alone.

In the heart of the city

The Hilton hotel is on one of the top locations of the city. It is a very beautiful historical building. It used to be the department store Grand Bazar for more than a hundred years.Even if you don't stay in the Hilton it is great to walk in an have a cup of coffe or a snack.

Location, Location, Location!

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

This is one of the nicer Hiltons that we've stayed in. The building itself has an old historic facade and it resides right on the Groenplaats (green square). It's a block from the Cathedral and 2 blocks from the grote mark.

Unique Quality: We didn't use many of the facilities, but the staff was extremely accommodating. We had to get to the train station, but the taxi that the concierge had called was running late, so the bellboy took us and two other people in the hotel car and we were able to make our train on time.

Directions: Groenplaats

Very present in the Antwerpen centre

by written on November 2, 2003

Who doesn;t know the Hilton-chain? Well, for sure there's also a branch in Antwerpen and here it has a very destingueshed location in the centre and on the Groenplaats (Green square). The building is as well very significant. So, when you're up to a very expensive night in this Flanders town ... be the guest of mr. Hilton.

The Hilton is situated at a top location ,

When Hilton hotels are usually modern , quit
ugly buildings , the Antwerp Hilton is housed
in a magnificent building.

This **** hotel has a wonderful breakfast
room that has a vieuw on the cathedral and
the 'Groenplaats'.

more advantages
-public transport stops nearby , Melkmarkt
and Groenplaats
-You can't be more in the center then this
-a parking under the square for the guests..

Directions: Historical center

5 Star Luxury - Right In The Heart Of Town

by written on September 25, 2002

Beautiful hotel, and right in the city centre, on Groenplaats. Probably the best combination of quality and location that you could hope for - but at a price. I couldn't get this hotel for less than 214 euro per night, so it was out of our price band.

Unique Quality: Style, quality and above all location.

Directions: If you find Groenplaats, you can't miss the hotel - it forms the whole of one side of this square!
