Relaxing in and around "De Molse Meren"
by Pavlik_NL
Around Mol there is a very special kind of sand, that has been deposited in prehistorical times. Silver, or white, sands are laying in thick layers on the "Kempen" plain. In the industrial revolution this sand was used in certain construction works and therefor dug out. In thoses places lakes appeared when ground water leveled up. Forests and fields reappeared around them. and this now has become the touristic main attraction of Mol. The water in the lakes of Mol (Molse Meren) are known to have some healing power (as for the sands giving of certain elements that are healthy), but in general the "Silverlake", Silverbeach and SunParks "Kempense Meren" are well-known attractions for both young and old.

Eindhoven airport to Mol ?
by helengou
Is it possible to travel to Mol from Eindhoven by public transport, during the day?
The only train route I can find takes hours.
If not possible, do you have any idea how much a taxi would be?
Thank-you

The train takes just over 3 hours (with changes, which lengthen the journey).

will give you timetables and routes.
A taxi will not be cheap, assuming you could find one to take you. It's 50+ km.

Hi Helen,
Assuming you mean Mol in Belgium, you have to focus on a journey by bus. this however has some difficulties as - although European borders are fading - the borders are still noticed in international bus (and train) connections. I'ld recommend to contact a Dutch buscompany or surf to www.9292OV.nl and pop the question here. Most obvious connection will go from Eindhoven over Bladel and possibly Turnhout to Mol and will take between one or two hours. By car it is only half an hour drive, so if you have a (international) drivers license, it might be interesting in renting a car in Eindhoven (budget example: www.sixt.nl).
Kind regards,
Paul

Easier : get from Eindhoven Airport to Eindhoven Railway station (bus). There you catch the bus to Luyksgestel, which is on the border with Lommel in Belgium. Every hour, there's a little bus that makes the trip Luyksgestel-Lommel Railwaystation where you can take the train to Mol. If it's not too late yet I'm happy to have a look at the exact hours. It's all rather well-connected so far less difficult that it looks...
