The Ibis Cathedraal is a reasonable choice if you put weight on a central location without having to pay more than necessary. It is a budget hotel for sure, but the rooms are clean and offer enough comfort to provide you with a good night's sleep. The best thing though: 1 step outside and you're in the middle of one of the most wonderful cityscapes in Europe!!! If you care for more comfort, the Sofitel and the Novotel are across the square.
Great location; next to St. Baafs church. It's Ibis, so don't expect too much, but rooms are clean (may be on the small side, but we -average build- had no problems with it), bathroom adequate, room service is fast (bringing extra cushions and blankets), reception was friendly, though not too open handed with information about parking in the streets but kept pushing us to park in the car-parks. Wifi available. We paid 65 euro per night (double room). Would stay again (when B&B's are fully booked).
A typical Ibis hotel - clean, comfortable, friendly staff. What sets this apart is its central location and the views of St Baafs Cathedral, Belfort and the theatre from most of its rooms. Also worth trying is its slightly cheaper sister hotel, the Ibis Opera about 5-10 minutes walk away at the other end of the pedestrianised shopping street. An Ibis is an Ibis, no matter where you are, but the central location and views from this hotel set it apart.
