Excellent 4* hotel right in the centre!
Now this hotel is not easy to get to BY CAR but it does have its own private car park beneath it (though it costs 13 euros for 24 hours). However, it is an excellent 4* hotel to stay in if you can get a deal. I used Expedia and got a room (for 2) for £68 per night.
It's right in the middle of the city with just a short distance from anything and everything you'd want to see - the market square, the Cathedrals, the excellent restaurants, the castle, teh shops, the rivers, the museums and galleries etc.
There's a lively night life which you can enjoy on your doorstep - or turn up the air conditioning and get an early night with the double glazing closed!
The facilities at the hotel - bar, restaurant and gym/sauna are all excellent and all the staff were very friendly.
All in all, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The best hotel in Ghent.
Last week my girlfriend and I where visiting the most hotels located in the centre of Ghent because we where looking for a good celebration hall. The hotel that gave us the best impression of all of the hotels we had visited was the Sofitel hotel just next of the city hall of Ghent. Friendly staff, nice interior, etc... but also the most expensive prices offcourse! We also had the opportunity to see the rooms, they looked very OK.
Unique Quality: This hotel is on a top location in the historical heart of the city.

Live like a king or queen and stay in this hotel in the heart of our beautiful city ! A little bit expensive though....

Good, wheelchair-accessible but expensive
I stayed for 1 night at this hotel. It is situated right in the historic inner city. Very comfortable, fully wheelchair-accessible room.

A: "You shouldn't have any problem with the tram. They run regularly and are rarely full except at peak times. Gent taxis are expensive."
