The best B&B I've ever stayed in

If you need a place to stay in Brugge you should definitely try this place! It's wonderful, friendly, colourful, spotless clean, central and cheap! We stayed in the beautiful red room for three nights in December 2006 and I never wanted to leave again!

The B&B is located in a quiet one way street a 3 minutes walk away from the main square, even less to Burg square. On weekends you can park your car in this street which is more than helpful to get rid of it in the maze of Brugge one way streets. The rooms are in the top floor of a beautiful old town house with high ceilings and an impressive staircase!

The owners, Lut and Bruno Setola, obviously have stayed in many B&Bs in their lives because they tried to make everything perfect in their own B&B (which only has three rooms by the way, so book early!).... which they did! There are many "little things" which I especially enjoyed! Like the sweets in the breakfast room. Like the fact that you could use their fridge. Like the little book where pervious visitors wrote about their experience with all the restaurants of Brugge (kind of like a little VT with only restaurant tips ;)

Unique Quality: The rooms are specious, modern and clean - with ensuite bathrooms of course. Our room had a dark red wall, wooden beams and natural stone. It didn't only have a bed but also a sofa and a desk. And it was huge, you could dance in this room!!!

The breakfast is great, too. Every morning there was another "special" along with the bread, danish, cereals, fruit etc. One day it was a cake, the other day eggs... And the view from the breakfast room was very special ... the roofs of Brugge and the Belfry in the back! Lovely!

We only met the lady of the house, Lut Setola. She was always smiling and very friendly and we got great tips of her on what to do to escape the pre-christmas crowds in Brugge. The 2nd sentence she said to us after "Hello, come in" was "Don't eat at the market square" I think ;)

So.... what are you waiting for? Book this place (no I don't get paid to write this ;). A hotel can't be much better really. And it's much more expensive as accommodation prices in Brugge can be terrible. We paid 25 EUR per person sharing. I don't think there are many cheaper places in the centre of Brugge!!!

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

A: "No idea about the first part of your post. I don't see why you couldn't go and have a meal or a coffee or something. Or even go and just wander round the grounds...."
