You will have no problems finding somewhere to hire a bike in Brugge, and can certainly hire tandems (for 2 people) in several places.

The official tourist info site has a list of bike hire shops (scroll down the page):

Renting bicycles seems to be a bit cheaper in neighbouring Ghent.
Good to know for those who are in the planning process of a Ghent-Bruges-Ghent Tour or a Bruges-Ghent-Bruges Tour with rented bicycles.
;-)

there are several places to hire bicycles, even at the trainstation. take notice you might have to give a warrant that you get back once you deliver the bicycle again (also possible to arrange this with a visa-card).
there are also guided cycling tours should you be interested. it is fun!

Travel Tips for Brugge

Municipal flag of Brugge

by xuessium

Extracted from "Flags Of The World":

The municipal flag of Bruges is horizontally divided into eight white-red-white-red-white-red-white-red stripes with a blue lion in the middle. The lion has a yellow crown and necklace with a small yellow cross and red claws.

The flag is a banner of the municipal arms. The arms were first officially granted by the Count of Flanders in 1304. The lion is most likely derived from the lion of Flandersshown in a different colour (blue instead of black). The colours are known since the XIVth century.

City Street

by Gypsystravels

Bruges is a very easy and compact city to navigate on foot. From the moment we left the train station we walked and explored Bruges on foot even though it was a bit cold and raining, which of course never stops me from exploring a beautiful city like Bruges.

Horse/carriage ride

by codrutz

One of the ways that people seems to enjoy in Brugge is taking the horse carriage. From what I saw, the driver/guides are very skilled in attracting tourists and explain to them what they are seeing. I can't tell you prices .. but I'm just guessing is more than a boat trip.

I never took a carriage (maybe I should) .. Brugge have pretty narrow streets, and you can see also some Series 7 BMWs along with some one-horse power carriages :) Though that's some power horses they have there :)

Brugge loves Beer!

by ct-bound

Apparently the township of Brugge alone makes something like 300 different types of Beer!

We saw the usual suspects, and also flavoured beers, like cherry, or other fruits. Beer was one thing that was really quite affordable in Brugge.

The GRUUTHUSE MUSEUM

by patrikske

The GRUUTHUSE MUSEUM is located in the 15th-century palace of the Lords of Gruuthuse and contains what is easily the most varied collection of applied or decorative art in Bruges (15th to 18th century). A large collection of sculpture, fine Bruges tapestries and furniture is accompanied by silverware, copper, tin, coins and medals, pottery and musical instruments.
