More about Cote Canal
What a find!
by TripAdvisor Member RachelBriggs
We stayed at Cote Canal for two nights in May 2007, in hte Empire Suite.
It is quite a challenge to find initially, hidden down a tiny backstreet but extremely central.
We were given a warm and friendly greeting by Caroline, the owner, and made to feel very much at home.
Our suite was fabulous - although Caroline said it wasn't one of the nicest! We had a large and lovely bedroom, a second room (that our kids would have loved, had it not been our anniversary and the fact they were banned from coming!...) and a large and comfortable bathroom with every facility and extra you could need. The communal areas of the house are gorgeous, full of character and colour, and we felt very much at home. Caroline has a commitment to her guests that is outstanding - nothing is too much trouble, and everything is with a warm smile - on our last morning, she printed off directions to a garden centre as we wanted to buy some plants - always willing to help. She also kindly found me a snack when pregnancy-related sickness got the better of me one afternoon!! She even put gorgeous flowers in our room when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary.
The garden is lovely, and you have a sense of time being your friend! The B & B is right alongside the canal, so you can feel very priviledged to see people walking past on the other bank, and enviously wondering how you came to such a great location!
We will stay there whenever we're back in Bruges, and we are delighted to have found this special place.
Don't hesitate to book it!! You won't be disappointed.
Cote Canal Bed and Breakfast

We arrived at Cote Canal, Brugges after a train trip from Paris to Brussels to Brugges.
There were no taxis waiting at the train station, but we were lucky enough to snag one that came in.
Cote Canal is charming. Caroline, the owner/hostess, was as charming as the bed and breakfast. She welcomed us with open arms and showed us our beautiful room, Clin D'Oeil.
The room is very large, the bed very comfortable. I wished it had a shower instead of a very large tub. After the long trainride, I was sorely in need of a shower.
Caroline provides everything, including a vat of beer!
A friend came from Lille for dinner, and Caroline chose a local place with great atmosphere and lovely food.
We slept very well, and had the loverly buffet breakfast. We spent the next day walking all over Brugges..what a special place. Caroline sent us off with our map and we followed it to a tee. Lunch at the Golden Carp..delicious.
We caught the 4 pm train to Amsterdam.
We highly recommend Cote Canal.
The best B&B in Brugge
by TripAdvisor Member svarugh
My father, sister, my son (22 months) and I stayed at Cote Canal for one night in May. We has 2 suites, both large and beautifully decorated with modern bathrooms. This B&B is the best I have stayed in - I am an event planner and I do events in five star hotels all over. The suites we stayed in are as good as any five star hotel. Caroline is a wonderful hostess - she was there to welcome us and took our luggage to the rooms for us. I have not seen this kind of personal attention anywhere else. Throughout our stay she was there to help us out - always with a smile. We felt like we were staying with family. This should definitely be the number 1 B&B in Brugge.
Cote Canal - Truely wonderful!

I have just returned from a three night stay at Cote Canal and have to say what an amazing place it is. Everything about it makes you fall in love with it. Our room was beautiful and luxurious. It was over looking the garden which was right next to the canal.
Caroline, the host couldn't have been nicer. She made us feel so welcome. Each morning she did a wonderful breakfast which we could have in the garden if we wanted. You can really see she has put her heart and soul in to this mansion house. Every detail from the rooms to the garden are so impressive. The location was fantastic as being 8 months pregnant I wanted to be in the heart of brugge. She reccomended lots of great restaurants and booked us up on a day trip.
I can't reccomend this place enough. Now I am just looking forward to going back once the baby is born!
Cote Canal is absolutely beautiful

The website, as beautiful as it is, does not do the property justice. Everything was perfect. Be sure you have cash, though, because credit cards are not accepted.
Perfect in every way

My partner and I spent the weekend at Cote Canal and it was an amazing experience. Caroline runs a perfect bed and breakfast in the middle of Bruge where everything is within walking distance. The room we stayed in was immaculate and very comfortable, each room has been decorated in a different style. We had breakfast out in the gardens facing one of the canals, we just sat in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful home cooked breakfast watching the world go by. If you are staying in Brugge don't stay anywhere else, you will not regret choosing the Cote Canal.
Fantastic!

Unfortunately we only stayed for 1 night, I say unfortunately because it is a lovely B&B and it was hard to leave! The room decor makes you feel like you were living in luxury and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever felt. The house is very old and has a lot of charm. Everything was perfect from the robes included in the room, to the yummy breakfast in the morning. Caroline was a very attentive and gracious hostess and made sure that we were comfortable and all of our needs were met. The B&B is located right on the canal and has a lovely yard that you can enjoy. It is a short walk to the main square, Bruges itself is a very walk-able city. Like the B&B the city has tons of charm and I hope to visit both Bruges and Cote Canal again!
Loved the Cote Canal-Best accommodation, location and ambience

We are an Australian couple that visited Brugge in late October 2007.
From the moment we walked into the Cote Canal , Caroline the B&B owner made us feel so welcome. Caroline has decorated the B&B with great taste and attention to detail. Our room was excellent and included all amenities that any guest could need. The view from our room of the garden and the canal was very special.
Breakfasts are legendary...the variety of breads, pastries, jams, fruit, ham & cheeses and superb coffee served in a beautiful breakfast room makes it an excellent way to start the day.
A wonderful added touch was the facility of Stella Artois on tap.
Best of all was Caroline's personal and very kind attention and helpful advice regarding how to enjoy stunning Brugge.

GORGEOUS B&B

We have just returned from a short holiday in Brugge. We chose this B&B after reading Trip Advisor .
Everything about our stay was wonderful.
Making the booking was easy after we found the contact details on Trip advisor.. We took the train to Brugge and walked from the train station . It took about 10mins.Caroline who runs the property had given us perfect directions.
We fell in love with Brugge the minute we got there. What a gorgeous place !The B&B is situated on one of the canals with a lovely outlook over the autumnal garden to the canal and beyond.
The house is absolutely gorgeous and words cannot describe our room . All I can say is that it was better than any 5 star hotel.
The room was huge, the bed was huge and soooo comfortable, the bath was huge and there was every imaginable convenience, robes, slippers, fluffy towels , bath gel and more.
Then there was breakfast. Amazing ! Delicious ! Magnificent !There was even some chocolate .
The configuration of the B&B (private guest entrance and bedrooms upstairs) allowed privacy and at times we felt as if we were the only people there although all 4 rooms were occupied while we were there
And then there is Caroline. A more attentive and helpful host would be hard to find. Her advice regarding sights and restuarants is excellent.
We have stayed in many B&B s over the years and do prefer B&B s to hotels but we would have to say that this was our most wonderful B&B experience
We will be back
An absolutely charming and relaxing B&B.

We were two couples who spent the best three days of our 5-week France trip in this wonderful and relaxing B&B.
Caroline, a remarkably warm, friendly and knowledgeable person, gave us her undivided attention at checkin, explaining in great detail what Brugge had to offer.
We had two suites on the second floor that were decorated elegantly and tastefully with every personal touch to detail, making it a very relaxing place at the end of the day.
I only wish all our stays throughout europe could be done in this style.
