We enjoyed a very comfortable three-night stay in this characterless but spotlessly clean modern canalside hotel with private garage (10 euros p.d. extra) 10 minutes' walk from the Market. Easily reached by car from the motorway. Good-sized room, quiet, good value for money (discounted through Hotel Club). Overworked lone receptionist! The breakfast was outstanding, and kept us going for most of the day - fresh breads and croissants, scrambled eggs and bacon, and much else. Warmly recommended.
The Golden Tulip is a good place to stay as it is offering a very good compromise of location, comfort and price. The hotel is fully wheelchair accessible and offers several adapted rooms. These were very comfortable to use. No water kettles in the rooms but the hotel serves afternoon coffee free of charge.
If you can get a deal for around € 80 per room including breakfast, go for it.
This very clean, comfortable 4 star hotel is sittuated on Potterierei at the top end of Bruges.
We were lucky enough to be staying in one of the rooms with a balcony over looking the hotels Japanese garden.
The rooms themselves are of a good size and have air-con, comfy beds, internet connection, minibar and free safe box
The brekfasts are good too, I think all tastes are catered for; tea, coffee, juice, cereals, fruit, bread, bacon, sausage, cheese, cold meats
(I didn't tell you this, but you can allways smuggle some out for a lunch!)
Although the hotel does have a pool and health centre, I didn't get chance to use them.
Unique Quality: Probably the most unique quality this hotel has is it is a small piece of Japan in Belgium!
The bar/lounge has nice views into the Japanese themed garden and if you get there between 2pm and 4pm you can take advantage of the free tea and coffee
I like the quote on the hotels website too which claims '...two rooms equipped with all facilities for the facial challenged guests. '
So if you are indeed facial challenged, make a point of booking in to here (-;
Directions: It can seem a long walk from the station to the hotel if you are carrying suitcases (and virtually all roads are cobbled!) Take one of the many buses which stop on the opposite side of the bridge. Just ask the driver to give you a shout when to get off!
