Delightful Hotel!!!

I loved the " De Tuilereen Hotel". It has all to do with the romantic ambience of Bruges!! The hotel is so cosy and nice, I could have stayed there for a whole month!!

My room was huge , wonderfully decorated, with everything you could ask for. The tones were in light blues. A huge fireplace I didn't need to use was also available as well as a large sitting area. bathroom, though not large, was delightful! And the toileteries were great and good quality!

Public areas were lovely !!!

Service was great , from housekeeping to front desk staff. I was travelling alone and felt always very welcomed. Breakfast was awsome. It included champagne and the well known chocolate fountain with that delicious Belgium chocolate....!

Its location, then, coulnd't be better, on the most enchanting and famous of Bruges channels. Easy walking distance from the main square and any restaurant or shop around.

Unique Quality: Lovely rooms and wonderful location!

Beautiful Hotel in beautiful location!

I surprised my husband with a short trip to Bruges in March 2004 and chose the Tuilerieen for a number of reasons. Recommendations from VT were great, talking to the hotel via e-mail was a delight and a very central location.

On enquiring about availability, the receptionist pointed out that they still had a winter promotion room available at a much reduced rate..great...fab service so far AND cheap!!

When we arrived the room was amazing..a four poster bed with huge marble bathroom and a private enclosed patio to sip those glasses of bubbly in the evening..we were in heaven! When we booked out I found that this wasn't a deluxe double as expected but a seriously upgraded room which should have cost us over 400 Euros a night, we in fact paid 180 Euros which included breakfast and valet parking!!

The people at the hotel were wonderful, the breakfast was to die for..large choice (including champagne and handmake chocolates all served until a very respectable time in the morning!). Location was very central and was right opposite a lovely canal with wonderful buildings. Recommend the restaurant Duc de Bourgogne for a special occasion, fantastic food and wonderful staff. For chocolate definitely go to Moeder Babelutte just round the corner at Rozenhoedkaai 1 they are inexpensive and delicious!

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and my husband has said we are not staying anywhere else when we go back to Bruges...lets hope they have a lot of winter specials!!! (Always worth contacting the hotel re specials as the reception staff are notified by the management when to do them, they are not set dates and can vary from year to year.)

We loved this hotel

Lovely hotel, great location, wonderful staff. Not cheap but worth every euro.

Unique Quality: Hotel has original crystal windows from Venice. We liked the (little used) indoor jacuzzi, sauna and pool. Our 7 year old loved the chocolate fountain at breakfast.

Nicely plush

Excellent location (although that is not hard to do in Brugge), excellent Breakfast (although that is not hard in a foodie country like Belgium), excellent sized rooms (again not hard to do in an oldish building), excellent staff (not hard if you pay more than peanuts) and excekkent ambiance (Ok, that takes a bit of work)...but getting all of them at the same time...now that makes for an excellent hotel.

This hotel is clearly in the four star (luxury) bracket, with top quality furnishing throughout. The bar and public areas are old-fashioned in a tasteful way..traditional would perhaps be a better word. Unfortunately this all comes at a price, and although you might strike lucky on a website expect to pay up to 200 euro a night. The only real gripe was the tiny swimming pool. You are very lucky to find a swimming pool in central Brugges, but large bath would have been a more accurate description. Car parking was also an annoying expensive extra.

Unique Quality: The premium breakfast was quite expensive at about 30 euro per head, but on the plus side they didn't charge for the kids (prior agreement with the hotel staff needed there) and I was rat-arsed by 9AM due to the free champayne.

Romantic Getaway

by TripAdvisor Member SuelindaLondon

We stayed at the Hotel De Tuilerieen during Valentines weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was great for visiting the sights of Brugge and our room faced the beautiful canal. We stayed in the old part of the hotel and the room was huge and tastefully decorated. The staff were professional, discrete and they even did downturns. Breakfast was totally scrumptious!

what a great hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Tuilerieen hotel was beautiful - within walking distance of all the sights in Bruges (which is also a beautiful place). We spent 3 nights in a canal view room. The room itself was great - light and airy with a stripped wood floor and the staff could not have been more helpful. If we return to Bruges - we would definitely stay here again. We found several great restaurants in Bruges. We spent a weekend in Brussels last year - we felt that Bruges beats Brussels hands down - it is really picturesque with great food and beer!!!

Loved it

by A TripAdvisor Member

Stayed here for two nights and loved it. We had a canal-facing "superior double" in the old part of the hotel. Room was tastefully decorated in light pastel shades. The good-sized bathroom with two sinks, shower and bath meant that we could get ready in parallel!

Breakfast tasty, and very fresh, perhaps a little pricey at 24 Euros (although that includes champagne if your tastes go that way early in the morning!)

Staff friendly but not over-bearing or intrusive. Maid service very fast.

Probably not a hotel for small children, but excellent for couples.

Extremely well-situated, convenient for the Groeningen museum and others.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The hotel is well located, beuatfully decorated, has friendly staff, a good breakfast, lovely pool, great room (we had a suite in the annex).....highly recommended. Stayed with my wife and children and would visit again.

lovely stay

by TripAdvisor Member Rainjar

What a wonderfull place. Stayed in many places, but this was brilliant. The room was large, service excellent, breakfast outstanding, location great. Facilities inside were excellent too, although the swimming pool was very small, the turkish bath, jacosi and sauna made up for it. Would definitely highly recommend it.

best hotel of our trip

by TripAdvisor Member dajkf

we stayed here in early July 2005 in the blue room with a king bed, shower stall, tub, fireplace all in a huge room with a wall of french windows. The service was top rate and the location was ideal. There is a small swimming pool, which we did not use, on site parking and a bar room with the fireplace going on a rainy day. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel from "In Bruges" movie

by irongirl

Hello,
does anyone have the information about the name of the beautiful hotel from the hollywood movie "In Bruges"?! We`d like to visite it very much.
Thanks in advance :)

Lots of info about the locations for the film here:

http://www.brugge.be/internet/en/toerisme/cfo/inbruges.htm

There's even a map.

I think it's the Jan Brito Hotel, by the way.

I think I just foud it. It seems that it`s Hotel De Tuilerieen http://www.hoteltuilerieen.com. There are some photos of the room and lobby, looking just like in the movie - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g188671-d277441-Reviews-Hotel_De_Tuilerieen-Bruges_West_Flanders.html

exactly the Hotel Tuilerieen :)
http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2007/3/6/16273/18004/hotels/Ralph_Fiennes_Continues_World_Sex_Tour_at_Hotel

Actor Ralph Fiennes caused quite a stir last month when he joined the Mile High Club with a Qantas stewardess yet that hasn't slowed down his travelling sex drive.

The latest report has the actor frolicking naked in a hotel pool in Belgium with not one, but four women.

Guests at the Hotel Tuilerieen in Bruges were awoken at 5am by loud music, yelling and screaming. Usually, hotel managers don't like to disturb celebrity guests no matter how bad the behavior, but this hotel's rep, Patricia Homble said: "I wasn't happy about it."

But did she ask Fiennes and co. to leave? We doubt it.

Re: Hotel from "In Bruges" movie

I saw that too.

But I assumed that was where he/they/the film crew etc were staying, not that it featured in the film (which I have not seen).

Re: Hotel from "In Bruges" movie

And I saw it. I had a blast! Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell are hilarious together. In Bruges has become my favorite movie of the year!
It's that deep opposition between the absolute beauty of the surroundings - Bruges is spectacular in its medieval splendor- and the ugliness of the cruel, dirty, hopeless, criminal world. Yes, there is art in this movie, and yes it is a movie which will make you stop and think. Comedic in some parts, and funny comments but when you stop and think about the entire movie, the subject matter is far from comedic.

I haven't seen the movie but have to see it. I stayed at De Tuilerieen in January and loved the hotel!!!!
