Nicest host in Bruges
I have stayed here on a number of occasions now. The first visit was last Summer, for a few days. The hotel is not far from the city center. The rooms are tidy and clean, each with a lovely little individual touch. There is free parking, on the road close by.
The lady who runs the hotel is a fountain of knowledge, with an enthusiasm for her town which is infectious.
Unique Quality: There is a great breakfast here. Piles of information about the town is there for you to find, maps and information on a city audio tour that can be downloaded.

De Gulden Vlies
We were lucky to get three rooms in this hotel at very short notice, and it was a perfect place to start our trip to Bruges. The double rooms were very spacious and comfortable, with great bathrooms - the room on the ground floor even had its own little sitting out area in the garden, which suited the smokers in our party perfectly. Single rooms are available too - ours was at the top of three flights of stairs and as the hotel doesn't have a lift, it wasn't really suitable for my husband's elderly aunt. We swapped our double room for her single, and it was just about big enough for the two of us.
Breakfast is a standard continental. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Grand Place, and a 30 minute walk from the train station. Parking is available at the hotel if you need it, but you may have to reserve a space in advance. The one downside of the hotel is that rooms at the front are affected by traffic noise, so I would recommend asking for a room at the back if you can.
