More about Number 11 B&B
Wonderful!
by TripAdvisor Member tantallon1
We have just returned from 3 nights in this wonderful home. Brugge is beautiful and staying in this house completed a perfect holiday. The room was lovely as was breakfast. I would not describe Number Eleven as a "Bed and Breakfast" as it was like no other I've ever stayed in - it was like staying in an edition of Homes and Gardens!
Please let me live in your house!

This was our final stop on a car tour of Europe in our MGF during June (first stop Troyes, France; Weggis, Switzerland; Bergamo, Italy; Fussen and Nordlingen, Germany).
We had booked with Annie via e-mail for two nights in the Grey & White Room (costing Euro 120 p.n. incl. breakfast, payable in cash on departure).
After a long drive from Nordlingen, Germany we were delighted with our reception from Annie, who was extremely warm in personality, welcoming and helpful in her advice. I took several photos of the house, because I want my next house to look just like it! And the garden was a haven and especially nice to sit overlooking it through the french doors at breakfast.
The thing that sets this B&B apart is the little touches, Annie's lovely welcome, as well the delightful rooms, comfortable beds and the superb location, being close to everything.
Brugge was a real surprise... a mixture of Prague and Amsterdam and lovely for walks in the early evening... daytrippers there tend to leave it heaving during the day. We took the canal cruise and would recommend that to give you your bearings and for some great photos. This is a destination that would be great both in summer or winter. Oh, and Annie has great tips for reasonably priced restaurants, away from the more commercial side, that offer excellent food and wine.
We will definitely return and recommend this to be your destination for a long weekend away. Well done, Annie, you're doing a wonderful job!
Stunning B&B

Having read the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, I booked this B&B for 2 nights for my
family from Australia who were travelling in Europe. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. We all agreed that it was the most beautiful accommodation we had ever stayed in and the breakfast is first class. What really makes this B&B so lovely is Annie, the hostess. Nothing is too much trouble for Annie and she is very welcoming, warm and friendly. Bruge is a delightful city and to stay in such a beautiful house made the experience all the more memorable for us.
SIMPLY PERFECT!

We spent three nights in the B and B...Number 11 is a wonderful place. The location is exactly where you want to be in Brugge (central but quiet). The house is right out of House and Garden Magazine...absolutely beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were great. Annie bakes fresh every morning. We've stayed at many, many, many Bed and Breakfasts over the years. Number 11 is number ONE in our book!
So beautiful

We stayed in Number 11 for my birthday in July. Have been to Bruges before but this was the best experience. Really lovely room, such a warm welcome and delicious breakfasts. Would recommend to anyone - even if you like big hotels - try Number 11 and be converted!
A dream

Planning our trip to Brugge we were very focused on hotels. By chance we discovered the possibility of Bed & Breakfast on this website. Still we were quite sceptical. But then we saw the website of Number 11 (-). The pictures were very convincing. We have enclosed some further pictures taken during our stay of aspects not shown on the website. And reality was even better than the photos. Every detail – lovely arranged – was part of an atmosphere that made you feel welcome and at home. The delicious breakfast, the fresh flowers in every room and the candle lighter at night have to be emphasized. Breakfast was served in the stylish dining room where all the guests were seated at one great table. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a variety of delicious breads, fresh fruits, chocolate, homemade jelly and eggs freshly prepared by Annie according to each guest’s wish were offered. When we returned at night we found the dining room lighted by some candles. Instead of going to bed exhaustedly we stayed a while there and enjoyed the romantic atmosphere. And our hosts took very good care of us. They gave us some good advice on where to go for dinner, what beach to go to etc. And afterwards they also wanted to know whether we liked their suggestions. And indeed we did.
As a conclusion, we can only fully endorse the recommendations already made here! There is just one thing that needs to be addressed for those allergic to cats. Annie & Pavel own two beautiful cats who are allowed in the garden and the dining room. When they heard that we were allergic they immediately offered to withdraw the animals. Albeit this might be an issue for those whose cat allergy is not as light as ours.
Elegant Accommodation - Fabulous Hosts.

Yes, it really is as good as all those reviews suggest. We stayed for four nights at the end of August in the Suite - our son had a z-bed in the lounge area - and we cannot fault it!
The location is excellent, only a short stroll to the Markt and Burg, and everything about the accommodation shouts elegance and taste. There is lots of wood and stripped floorboards, a comfy sofa and throws. At night Annie lights tea-lights in the lounge and it is so beautiful to sit and talk and sip a glass of wine ( honesty bar close at hand! ) I have not had much experience of B&B's in the past, being very much a lover of good quality hotels, but I can whole-heartedly recommend this one. The website gives pictures of the rooms and is certainly worth looking at if you need convincing. Our suite had a separate entrance to the main house and a beautiful walled garden - it was like staying in our own flat but with fabulous breakfasts and the room serviced every day.
What sets this place apart though is the care and warmth of the owners, Annie and Pavel. They just get it absolutely right - there's nothing I can add - apart from the fact that we would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to Bruges.
I can't wait to go back to Number 11!

From the very first email from Annie at Number 11, I knew I would be happy staying at this casually elegant B&B.
It was better than I expected. The web site is accurate, the rooms are beautiful, decorated with care and taste, yet not fussy or formal. You can kick off your shoes here and relax.
The innkeepers make a lovely mix of old and new in this home, so you will find beautiful woodwork, but clean lines, and a light, airy feel in these rooms. I was in the White and Gray Attic room, and loved it.
Annie greeted me and helped me get my stupidly oversized suitcase (I have learned a valuable lesson about packing and suitcases on this trip!) up and down the stairs to my room.
I had already been in Brugge at another, very good B&B by the way, but wanted to do a bit of a spluge for myself here. I'm so glad I did.
What sets Annie and Pavel apart is the fact that they truly savor the company they keep. You will feel like you are visiting friends here. Yet you won't feel 'monitored'...they know how to let you be, yet they really have a wonderful vibe. It's hard to describe.
Nuts and bolts:
Great location. Right in the heart of lovely Brugge and right off one of the canals, yet, quiet spot.
Beautiful accomodations, this is a honeymoon spot for sure, yet as a single traveller, I enjoyed the luxury too!
Terrific breakfast: Annie will make you eggs, offer you yogurt, supply you with cereal, cheese, ham, croissants and breads. You'll be able to skip lunch and splurge on the nearby restaurants (she has great recommendations here too).
Good shopping tips: I wanted to check out a local bike shop (I actually DID make a bike purchase here) and she steered me to a great shop.
The price is right. You could stay at a hotel, but you'd spend MORE than you would here, would miss out on all the valuable information, good company, beauty of the place, and good conversation.
You'll find this place highly rated, and with good reason. If you've been shaky on B&B's in the past? This is the place that shows others how to do it.
Enjoy. But don't stay too long, I plan on booking again, and I'll want my space at the breakfast table.
Charm, comfort, warmth and so much more!

So many people have written in that I thought it might not be necessary for me to add my two cents. However, Annie and Pavel were so great to us, that I'm compelled to ditto all the wonderful reviews that have been posted already! I've been blessed to have travelled a great deal (28 countries) in my 34 yrs and Number 11 is my favorite B and B for the following reasons. It's comfortable and elegant at the same time with no pretention and Annie is one of the warmest, most helpful B&B owners that you could ever meet. My husband and I had a wonderful two nights in the Vanilla room. Bruges is my favorite city in Europe and one of my favorite cities anywhere. We had the privilege of visiting their new B and B, which recently opened...the Goose House (On Goos street) and that's so lovely too. A lot of natural wood amidst modern furnishings done in a classy way. Amazing bathrooms too!
Number 11 is wonderful!

I'm sure to be adding what has already been said about this wonderful B&B situated right in the heart of Brugge, but I can not resist praising this B&B. My husband and I loved our 3 day stay at Number 11. As another review stated- it is hard to describe how warm and comfortable it was staying with Annie and Pavel. They are such warm and gracious hosts. This was our 2nd stop on a 3 stop trip after a train ride from Amsterdam. Annie warmly greated us when we arrived after 10pm and helped my husband lug up his enormous suitcase up to the chocolate attic room. The room was immaculate, spacious, modern and classy. The breakfast was abundant and tasty. We were sad to leave, but even more sad when we continued our trip to Brussels where we stayed at a run of the mill small hotel which claimed to be a bed & breakfast. At that point we knew without a doubt that we had lucked out by finding the truly one of a kind, Number 11. Highly recommended! Don't miss this one!
