Room without a view

This hotel is cheap compared with others in the area and is a good base point for exploring the Ypres Salient. It is not in a scenic area, in the middle of a commercial estate but you cannot see out of the window anyway as it our one was an un-opening skylight. You can see out of it on tip toe but there was little to see anyway. We had to wait 10mins at the check-in before anyone came to book me in, I guess they were short staffed at the time. The staff are friendly and helpful and fluent in English. The room size is small comfortable with a decent sized bathroom.
The dinner service was very slow at about 20mins between each course. The set menu was 15 euro. It was a good meal and a choice of alternatives are available.
The room got very hot at night even with the heating off, this was in a cold late November. In order to get a cold drink there is an expensive drink dispenser in the hall way although a kettle is supplied in the room.
Breakfast was excellent with a wider variety than I expected. There was coffee tea, croissant rolls, jam, fruit, cereal and bacon and beans.

Unique Quality: There are little other amenities but the hotel does have a good free car park. The staff are friendly . Breakfast is excellent and meals can cater for the English taste, my wife cannot stand garlic and herbs.
