At the Belgian seaside (not only in Knokke, but everywhere along the coast) you can hire so-called "billekarren". From very small ones for kids in the shape of an animal to huge ones for upto 10 people. This is great fun for both children and grown-ups. You can drive your vehicle on the promenade along the shore and sometimes also in the streets. If you want to drive on the streets, it is safer to take the quiet streets only! Billekarren are usually rented by the hour.
By the way, also rollerblades can be rented. And usual bikes of course, for half a day or a day.
Knokke, for the "rich and famous"

Knokke (Knokke-Zoute) is a bit of an upscale resort with beautiful apartments along the sea promenade and white painted villas along the avenues.
It has very nice and expensive shops, many art galleries, some good hotels and restaurants, a beautifully located golf course, a thalasso centre, ... everything to please the spoilt holidaymaker.
This is the skyline at Knokke Albertplage. Not really what I would call nice but you do have a wonderful seaview from your apartment.
I love Knokke-Zoute and Knokke-Duinbergen because it's still quiet there.
It's nice to stroll on the boulevard at Knokke Albertplage (lots of cafes and restaurants).
Knokke-Heist is not attractive: old and mostly high-rise buildings.
