Get on a tram along the coast to De Panne, you will see the beach and the dunes all the way down, it really is pleasant. Pleasant as a pheasant in a peasant, Dave Beasant. In De Panne, sit by the same beach that saw the Allies do the Great Escape in 1940, one of the proudest days in British history, and also see the statue that commemorates the first king of Belgium's landing in his new domain, Leopold I. Nearby is a big bearded statue of a sailor, looking away from him. Just goes to show. Sitting by the front at sunset on a warm evening at the end of April and watching the sun settle into a silver sea. In the distance you could see the lights of England. I sat with a tear in my eye and then got up and shouted, YOU LOT ARE GONNA LOSE IN EURO 2000!!!!! They never heard me in Dover.

The Saint Peter and Paul-Church is the main church of Oostende. The neo-gothic style of the church became a fact after the fire in the former church on 14 August 1896. The architect Delacenserie got inspired of the Cathedral of Cologne. The sculptor Jan Baptist van Wint created the statues on the frontage from the Apostles Peter, Paul and the Virgin Mary.
The best Belgian basketballteam
by Vincedem
The best belgian basketballteam 'BC Telindus Oostende' has a new stadium! It's very nice and now it's up-to-date with the European top! I can strongly recommend to see a game in the stadium because it's very good entertainment even if you are not that much of a sportsfan!
