French fries.
by Schwitz
I recomend that everybody that visits Oostende tastes the "french" fries which actually are Belgian. My fondest memory of Oostende was probably the beach. Its not big and while I was there there really wasn't good weather but the beach always looked friendly.
Oostende Tip

A jewel among the Belgian coast-towns is De Haan.
It is the only place along the coast where you don't see these ugly high apartment buildings while walking on the beach.
You'll find a lot houses in this typical Belle-Epoque style.

It seems to be a habbit at Oostende that the host has to take care the guest are getting fed ! (don't mix with getting fed up, that is something different)
Good for Patricia we were 'only' with 25! it would have taken the whole afternoon before she got finnished and she would have a stiff arm the rest of the coming week!
Strange Oostende's habbit !
Bredene
by Mahieu
Bredene is known for two things: it is the main camping city of the Belgian coast and it has also the only nudist beach of whole Belgium.
Another thing about it is that it also the only coastal city without a dyke. Via a tunnel and a small walking path, you arrive directly into the dunes and the beach
Bredene is only 5 km away from Oostende.
