Clean, basic and central

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 3, 2015

I don't really require very much from a hotel room as I tend to spend very little time there. All I need is somewhere that is clean and tidy with some hot water to shower in and a comfortable bed. I had chosen the Aristote primarily for it's conventient position close to the Gare du Midi and it was indeed easy walking distance from there even with luggage.

The hotel sits on the Rue Stalingrad which is a fairly main thoroughfare although my room was at the back so road noise was not a problem although I do not know what it would be like at the front. The downside of this was that the view was that of the back stairs of the adjoining building which is not a problem in itself but it is so close and the wnndow so small that you needed the light on even during daylight hours. Again this is not a problem as I am generally out and about anyway.

The room was small but clean and tidy as you can see from the image and perfectly adequate for my needs. It was ensuite and there always seemed to be sufficient hot water when I wanted it.

I have included the other images as the traveller may have a bit of bother identifying the hotel as the frontage appears to be mainly a restaurant called La Divina Comedia. The hotel entrance is the door in the middle.

Reception is staffed 24 hours a day and the receptionists all seemed friendly enough.

All in all I was very pleased with the Aristote for it's location and the price which was very competitive.

Unique Quality: There are no unique qualities that I can see, it is just a good budget option in a convenient position.

This nice 3 star hotel is located 5 minutes from Midi Stattion, so it is quite convenient for rail travelers. A buffet breakfast is included in the rate and the rooms are nice and simple. TV is provided (most channels in french).

Unique Quality: Hotel is in a nice converted 19th Century building.

Directions: 5 Minute walk from Brussels Midi Stattion.

Right *on* Pl. Rouppe on Ave. de Stalingrad, but the name is not at all visible from the street nor is the bldg number. You just have to already know where and what you are looking for!!! (It's right across the street from the hotel with the neon-lit bell logo...this should help somewhat...) Helpful staff, in-room phone, and a very good breakfast, included in your room rate.

Directions: due north of Gare de Midi on the Pl. Rouppe
