Possibility is to take an hop on/hop off bustour. Takes you to the most nice things in Brussels.
In Brussels is a lot of artnouveaubuildings made by one of the most famous architects: Viktor Horta.
There is a Viktor Hortammuseum also. Check http://www.hortamuseum.be/
On Grand Place(Market Place) you'll find opposite to the Mayers Het Broodhuis.
This is the Brussels historical Museum: http://www.brussels.be/artdet.cfm?id=4202
Also nice is the Museum for Musicinstruments in a beautiful artnouveaubuilding:

Have a nice time in Brussels

Travel Tips for Brussels

They make the streets more lively !

by Muya

I particularly like it when artists make the street more lively. I'm thinking for example at the musicians playing in the long horrible hall going from the Gare Centrale to the underground. Well, sometimes when you are moody in the morning, late for work, and have to rush... they can bring you to a better mood with just a few notes.
You will often find people like that in the center of the city, musicians, or simply people dressed up and standing at the corner of a street.
Well... maybe this one is not really the one I expected and enjoyed to meet :-)

In our short time in Brussels,...

by littlebush

In our short time in Brussels, we went to see :
The Grand Place - The main square in Brussels. Here are some old buildings - the Hotel De Ville, Maison Du Roi and the Guildhalls. All very beautiful buildings in the old part of Brussels with its cobbled streets. The Royal Palace is nothing special but worth the walk to as the Parc De Bruxelles is opposite and is worth a pleaseant walk around. If you fancy a long walk, you can walk out to the EU area, theres not much there to see but a few European Parliament buildings. The Mannekin Pis is probably one of Brussels most famous attractions. It's a small statue of boy having a slash! Theres also a great cafe culture in Brussels and just off the streets of the Grand Place are some nice restaurants where of course you will have to try some Mussels from Brussels!

of course...but he's more...

by ankx

of course...but he's more little than i thought !!

The world famous peeing boy can be seen every day and night at the corner of Eikstraat/Stoofstraat near the Grand Place.
Trabel Tip: try to find out if the Manneken receives a new costume during your stay. During that occasion he p**s beer instead of water.

Eat some Belgian Chocolate.

by kenbac

Everyone knows about and has probably tried Belgian Chocolate.
This is got to be the ultimate home of great chocolate. It’s impossible to walk 100m without coming across a chocolate shop selling the most magnificent selection of Chocolate. There are so many options but for me the best has got to go between Leonidas and Neuhaus. To be fair Leonidas has brought Belgian Chocolate far beyond the shores of Belgium. You can get their chocolates almost everywhere including Dublin. The chocolates are beautiful, so I cannot pass one bad word against them. However I cannot get Neuhaus in Dublin and therefore this is the one I went for. Just Magnificent.

Palais des Nations

by Fam_Stoica

The construction of the Palais des Etats Generaux started in 1779 after the plans of Guimard; the facade was sculpted by Godecharle in 1781.

After 1830, it became the Palais des Nations, including the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate with splendid decorated rooms (paintings by Gallait and Lalaing).
