Great hotel staff

I found out about this hotel on the internet, but my first reason for choosing it was for its location (close to Le Botanique). The hotel pictures looked good and knowing it was a 4-star hotel, I wasn't worried about any disappointment...

I got to the hotel without making any reservation. I asked if they had a free room for one night and one of the receptionists asked if I had already stayed before in the hotel. I said no and that I got to know the hotel on the internet. She asked how much the room rate was on the internet site and she charged the room with the internet rate (single room: 89 Euros, all taxes and breakfast included). If I remember well, the normal rate is 122 Euros.
I was afraid I'd paid for more, but no. Uff!!!
I had the room 409, which faced Rue Royale. The room and bathroom were both clean but I was a bit disappointed with the decoration. This room definitely has to be refurbished. Oh and I thought the mattress was a bit uncomfortable.

I would definitely come back to this hotel mostly because I have never been treated so well than here.

Unique Quality: GREAT staff, Mini-bar (not electronic, so I could put inside my own food and drinks), free breakfast, trousers press, TV with at least 39 channels, spacious room (for European standards), alarm clock...

No, it is nowhere near your hotel, in fact it isn't really near anywhere, being a long way out in the suburbs. Your hotel is near the centre, convenient for trams (92, 93, 94..) and not far from the metro station Botanique. L'Eléphant Bleu is on the way out to Waterloo, near Place St. Job. The city bus that passes closest to the restaurant is the 41, which you would have to catch at Hermann-Debroux metro station, and to get there you would have to start by taking a tram to Parc or metro to Arts-Loi, therefore changing twice. However, it would be quicker and more convenient to take bus no. 60 all the way to the terminus at Vivier d'Oie, as the restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk from there (walk toward the main road and railway bridge, turn left, you'll see the Eléphant Bleu shortly afterwards, on your right), and you can catch the 60 at either at Trône, which you can reach by metro from Botanique, or at Place Royale (where you would have to walk back from the tram stop you would arrive on from your end of the rue Royale, and look for the stop down the hill on your left, the bus will go around the statue and turn right in front of the Royal Palace).
Here's the bus route and at the bottom of the page you can find a metro map and complete public transport network map: http://www.stib.irisnet.be/FR/40000Fre/B/40060F.htm

P.S. If you were looking to book a hotel that would be more convenient for the restaurant, there isn't really anything in that area, but something on the no. 60 bus route would be possible, e.g. near the Place du Luxembourg (Renaissance, Radisson EU, Leopold...) or lower end of the Avenue Louise near the chaussée de Vleurgat, like the Warwick Barsey (or even on the ch. de Vleurgat, where there is the Apart'hotel Wellington: http://www.hotels-belgium.com/brussel-al/wellington.htm).
The Place du Luxembourg is also handy for the airport bus - but only on Mon-Fri, as it only runs to and from Schuman at weekends.
