Wonderful hotel

Clean hotel, with good location to all EU institutions. With 15 minutes walk you will reach the center of the city. Breakfast is very good. Internet connection is not free that is unusual for this type of hotel.

Unique Quality: Good room facilities.

Good location for shopping

Rated as 4 star, but the rooms needed updating.

Unique Quality: Good location for the Rue de Neuve shops, and a nice walk down to the Grand Place. Also, the 24 hour tour bus stops just down the road.

Crowne Plaza Hotel

From the moment you enter the opulent lobby, you feel welcomed in this gorgeous hotel. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are beautifully decated.
Its only a short walk to the tourist centre Grand Place, the train staion and the shopping area.

Unique Quality: Gorgeously decorated rooms, make you feel right at home, its also got a lovely bar area where you can relax with a beverage after a long day of sight seeing.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Luxury in Brussels

We stayed for 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza and it was a great experience.

Our room was plush, staff friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was excellent!!

Unique Quality: Situated just across the road from the start of Rue Neuve, a great shop lined street that leads down to the centre of Brussels and the Grand Place.

More about Crowne Plaza Brussels

Absolutely wonderful!

by A TripAdvisor Member

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, located right next to the Hilton and in a location easy to get around for travelers using public transportation and walking. The room was beautiful, the room spacious and comfy, and we were able to get it for 54 Euros by reserving through priceline. I recommend to anyone!

Not as expected...

by TripAdvisor Member JohnGoodman

Just came back from 2 days stay in this hotel.I have to say that it looks much nicer on the photos that in the real life.
It's based next to the Nord train station and it's quite close to all tourist attractions. But it's still very close to the train station and the surroundings are not the best, it's the dirty and smelly part of town, next to the red light and old town, now became kind of ghetto.
Currently one of the entrances is locked due to some work ( have not seen any ) and you need to go all around the building in order to get to the hotel. The reception staff is ok,but not exceptionally welcoming.
Them do not offer any benefits to the Priority Rewards Gold members like other hotels - no welcome gift, no discounts, absolutely nothing ! Them do advertise free wireless internet - it's actually there, but the quality of the signal is sooo bad that you have to be really fortunate to be able to use it in the lobby and can not use it at all in your room. Basically, the only place where I was able to use it was in the corridor, standing right below the router ;-). There is some construction work going on in the hotel, so my floor ( 6th ) smelled of fresh paint - not the nicest smell I have experienced in my life.
The room itself ( 651 in my case ) have a VERY old furniture. Them may say it's ancient, but it feels only old ! The beds are making horrible noise each time you move, the shower was half broken and some paint went out of the sink.... that's not ancient, that's old and poorly maintained for me ! Even worse the air conditioning was highly insufficient - even setting it on maximum the temperature in the room was not changed that much. And I am not a big air-con fan, usually I use it for 10 minutes and then switch it off because it's starting to be cold for my tastes. Here I left it running for hours and it was still difficult to sleep during the night due to the heat ! Last thing - the breakfast is 26 euros and again, no discount for the Gold members....
I can not really understand how some of previous reviewers could rate this place as "luxurious" - probably them was used to the hostels before ! It's not only not luxurious at all but it's also poorly maintained and badly managed. If you need to stay in this area use the Sheraton in front of this place instead - it's not the lux hotel too, but at least it's efficient and modern.

Not up to scratch

by TripAdvisor Member arctictern

The hotel is not up to the usual Crown Plaza standards. Rooms are on the small side and air conditioning is poor. Breakfast is well below Crown Plaza standards. Reception staff are not well briefed on Brussels or else could'nt be bothered to help. The hotel is convenient to the Gare du Nord but the surrounding area lacks good restaurants and is generally quite seedy.

Pleasant stay

by TripAdvisor Member bacardiandlime

We checked into this hotel having arrived at our booked hotel and found that it was seedy so we decided to change.
The Crowne Plaza gave us a nice room, there was no view but that was ok.
The food in the restaurant was very good, and the hotel is walking distance from Rue Boucher and the town square where there are many restaurants.

Generally high quality & good value

by TripAdvisor Member tallmark

As a regular visitor, I find that at its best this hotel offers excellent accommodation at a good value rate. Most rooms are spacious and have been decorated in an attractive art-deco style up to modern construction standards. Lighting is good, beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are spacious and perfectly clean. Rooms often include iron & board, tea/coffee maker, personal safe. I have not used it, but I can see that there is a wireless local area network.

Some rooms may suffer from the noise of the main road or may not yet have been refurbished, so avoid these if possible.

Great business hotel!

by TripAdvisor Member Arturas

I am quite often in Brussels for business. Usually I am staying at NH Brussels airport hotel but since our company offers corporate rates for Crowne Plaza too I thought I should try it for a change. First of all I liked the location of the hotel. Is very close to the train station and it was easy to comute. As well, all touristic sights are very close. Take metro or just walk and you are in the palaces district. The room was very clean, very comfy bed. Nice decorated too! The hotel offers free wifi internet which is a great extra when you are on business trip. So, I definately staying here next times (NH hotel charges almost 20 euro!). The gym has not many equipment but enough to have a great workout. Sauna is availbale too. I was very quiet and great relaxing after working day. Breakfast buffet is great too. Enough choice to for a great start of the day. Hotel stuff is friendly. Enough reasons to stay here when I am in Brussels for business.
