City-center location

Every time I am in Brussels I stay at this hotel - earlier named Hotel Albert Premier - in the heart of the city by the smart Rue Neuve shopping district, right next to Place Rogier metro. The rooms are comfortable and clean, not huge but enough. Nice bathroom equipped with motion sensor lighting, where the complimentary toiletries are restocked every day.
There was never any problem with my rooms, though my choice has been always the cheapest one. The price include a 30euro breakfast.
The rooms are equipped with cable television with pay channels, Internet connections, direct-dial phones, minibars, etc.

Unique Quality: Centrally location, but away from the noise.

- City 2 (mall) - opposite
- Rue Neuve (shopping street) - opposite
- Grand'Place (historic square) - 1 kilometre
- Belgian Comic Strip Centre - 1 kilometre
- Royal Palace/Parc de Bruxelles - 2 kilometres
- Sablon and the Flea Market - 2 kilometres
- Bois de la Cambre (park) - 5 kilometres
- Mannequin Pis - 1 kilometre
- Chocolate Museum - 1 kilometre
- The Atomium - 10 kilometres

Hilton Brussels

Typical business hotel, modern decor, cheapest rooms are quite small but adequate for the business traveller

There are steps from reception to the lifts

TV is the usual continental channels - english language is limited to BBC1/2 and CNN, although some of the dutch channels often have english programmes. No radio, wake-up calls via the TV or telephone

Mini bar v expensive - 6 euros for a bottle of water!

Bar is pleasant with very friendly staff, not too pricey by hotel standards

Restaurant is fine, bar area in the evening, I had a great steak, plus wine and coffee for 50 euros

Breakfast is in a separate restaurant , again the usual continental fare plus hot english, 28 euros

Unique Quality: Big downside - there is a large building site next door and work starts at 0600! Avoid the rooms on that side...

Also the hotel is close to the railway line, you will get train noise from 0530 or so until midnight

Brussels Hilton

As a part of the Hilton chain, this is a fairly expensive. (Don't know the Euro rate now, sorry.) Check the Web site of the hotel and the usual travel Web sites for specials.

Unique Quality: The location of this hotel is excellent, and room sizes are large compared to the European standard. (Typical Hilton layout - nothing distinctive architecturally, but very comfortable.) They do have wonderfully deep bathtubs though, which are great after a day of walking.

The hotel is within walking distance of a lot of areas for shopping, dining, the weekend antique market, etc..

Well-located mid-priced hotel

This is an older Scandic, due for renovation soon. Rooms are typcially small, and those facing the street can be quite noisy from traffic. Central heat means it can get warm iinsde when it isn't so cold outside. Rooms are clean, Euro-style bedding, tv, phone, minibar, trouser press, closet, safe, shower-bath. Downstairs "Eken Brasserie" restaurant offers Continental food, and a full-range breakfast buffet is inluded with the rates.

Unique Quality: The hotel is 3 blocks from Centrale rail station, and a quick walk from the Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar - designed St. Hubert Galleries and the Rue des Bouchers and its many restaurants. Around the corner is the archtypical Belgian pub "La Morte Subite" with its many ales and brews, and the Manniking Pis and Grand Place are a few minutes by foot. This is a welcoming hotel with location, location and location, in the Scandic tradition (Hilton HHonors members can bok for a mere 10,000 points!)

More about Hilton Brussels City

Trop Cher. Beaux Hotel

by acommon1 about Hilton - Brussels

Finally, I found a hotel in Europe where I could warm up in my room. Of course, this is a European Union and United Nations business and social haven. Typical 4 - 5 star. Very accommodating.

The staff turned out to be right on amiable. The accepted a last minute reservation after another hotel had shutdown their front desk. So, I'll always appreciate the welcoming staff for my accommodations.

In the cities ther are good hotels(Hilton Brussels,Campaniles in many cities,Crowne Plaza in Antwerp. When you want adventure...take your tent and try the campsites.Search the web and the belgian sites:www.brussels-online.be
or the Hotel sites.

If you are in the south of Belgium(Ardennes) You can stay in a house for visitors.actually it's not a hotel but a house where you can sleep and cook at your own.there is no service, but there is a citchen,shower,4 beds and a garden. You are in the middle of the nature in a small village of 400 inhabitants, but the village is not far from Liège and brussels.
My parents are the owners so if you want to stay there ,contact me and I can do something...You need a car, because it takes 1h30min to drive to it from brussels.More info e-mail me!!:
