Hotel close to European activities/avenue Louise

very nice hotel, clean with courteous staff at reasonable price in terms of value for money. ask for a back-side room, it will be more quiet as trams pass by there. poor selection in mini bar but i rarely buy from there as prices are usually very high.good buffet breakfast, scrambled eggs was a minus.

Unique Quality: clean and comfortable bed...luxurious environment with large sized clean rooms,as a Holiday Inn Hotel should be. special low weekend rate!

A decent enough base for a visit

This hotel is in a very upscale neighborhood, near the Avenue Louise & the Boulevard de Waterloo. As with most hotels that have the ironic words "City Centre" in their name this property is a longish 25 minute walk to the center of Brussels, the Grand Place. This out-of-the-center location is not necessarily a bad thing since this is the most attractive neighborhood that I explored in Brussels as opposed to the tourist overload of t shirt shops and waffel emporiums in the grand Place area. The Louise Louiza metro stop is nearby and is handy for getting to and around the rest of the city. Plenty of tram lines are also nearby. The building is 1970's brutalist modern from the outside yet there is a functional warmth to the Lobby and Restaurant space. The room was Airport hotel generic and lacked amentiies like a safe or even a bidet. A very serviceable hotel to stay. Lots of bread & butter businesspeople going about their routine (especially all those cell phones ringing at breakfast!).

Unique Quality: Civilized location. Excellent staff, especially those at the Front Desk. Personable Lobby bartender named Mustafa who's worked there over 30+ years.

It'll do for a night or two

This hotel was mediocre by Holiday Inn Standards.

The room we had was having some renovation work being done. There was a patch of new plaster and a square of carpet missing where a heater should have been.

But it was clean and tidy and the breakfast was good.

It took some finding as our sat nav didn't have the street nor the hotel listed.

Unique Quality: Location is great for the City centre - especially the trendy shopping part with some superb restaurnts and pavement cafes around.

Tram goes past the door and it has very good secure underground parking at a reasonable extra cost - important in the city centre.

The name says it all

As any McDonald's or Pizza Hut in the world is the same, the rule applies to Holiday Inn hotels.
Simple, yet very comfortable and most of all, ell located in the city.

Unique Quality: Location.

Hotel by the airport?

by rainerbuse

I'll be flying out from Brussels to the USA soon. I'll have to leave my car in Brussels, but the parking fees at the airport are pretty stiff (over 200? for my 18 days).
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel, where I can stay the night before departure and leave my car in the hotel parking lot (preferably for free)?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys out there. Thanks in advance
Rainer

Hi,

Brussels is not cheap and if you want a hotel near the airport, you'll have to pay almost as much for 1 night as you have to pay for your parking fee.
I know that the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport has free parking, but don't know whether you can leave your car in their parking lot for a longer period than your stay.

A good and safe place for leaving your car during your travel (but not for free) is the following link ww.carhotel.be. We always put our car there.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

As for why not taking he train, I'd have to leave Dortmund by 11pm, go to Bielefeld, then take a train that passes through Dortmund on the way back to be in Brussels by 8. It's crazy.
Normally I wouldhave taken the train, but for a morning departure, it just doesn't work.
Thx again
Rainer
