A very cheap summer stay.
The Hotel Villa Royal is very well situated on Rue Royal, or Koningsstraat in Flemish. It is just ~15 min on foot to the centre and Groete Markt. The hotel is easily accesibale by tram, the lines 92 and 94 stop less than 100 m away.
Unique Quality: The rate is very competitive during the summer because as a "business" hotel they want to tempt other customers when there are not many business men or travellers for the EU parlament this time of the year. I had a single room for two nights, 98 Euros instead of the normal 500 Euros they charge. However the hotel isn't worth even 98 Euros because the walls are extremely thin and as I had a shouting kid in the room next to mine I had two sleepless nights.

Good hotel
Great value. Would compare room size to U.S. hotels rather than European. Only issue was getting to the hotel from North Station, take a cab and avoid some rough areas. Park was just two blocks away and easy stroll to shopping in the area.
Unique Quality: Good bar and lobby area for meeting people.
