Airport
despite so many good quality about the city of Brussels, I found airport was lacking the quality in services. There were few good shops and bar but still the quality was not there. Information and help was not very handy either.

Buongiorno.
Mi è stato detto che presso la Cattedrale esiste una pietra nera, probabilmente cubica, che porta incisi dei simboli. Posso sapere qualcosa di più e di trovare delle fotografie dell'oggetto?
Grazie.
Ciao Gianfranco.
Dovresti scrivere la tua domanda in inglese. Se non lo sai te la posso tradurre io. Fammi sapere qualcosa.
The only black stone "una pietra nera" I heard about in the Cathedral St Michel et Gudule is in the "Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Délivrance". It is an altar made of black marble with a central Assumption of the Virgin due to Jean-Baptiste de Champaigne (around 1650) nephew of Philippe de Champaigne.
I think you may mean the "méridien", there's a photo on here: http://www.cathedralestmichel.be/fr/cult_archi_meridien.php?lang=fr

When in Belgium, make sure you try out their chocolates! Did you know that this country produces 172,000 tons of chocolate per year?
The quality of the ingredients is maintained by adhering to Old World manufacturing techniques – with chocolates being made by hand in small chocolate stores using the original equipment.
Even in the 18th century, Belgian chocolate was popular. But then in 1912, Jean Neuhaus created a process that made the chocolate even more popular! He created the “pralines” or “couverteur” (cold shell).
These pralines can be filled with flavoured nougats in wonderful coffee, hazelnuit or fruit flavors. Leonidas, Neuhaus, Godiva and Nirvana arethe contemporary companies famous for their gourmet pralines.
So, indulge! I and my daughter are guilty of being CHOCOHOLICS!!!
Central Brussels is divided into two main areas, the Lower and Upper Towns.
The Lower Town comprises the medieval city center, built around the imposingGrand Place, a former market square. The area is easy to get around on foot, its little streets leading to popular quarters such as Ilôt Sacré, Ste Catherine, St Géry and Marolles.
The Upper Town, to the southeast, has a vastly different atmosphere. The traditional base of Brussels' French-speaking elite, it's home to wide boulevards, major museums, chic shopping areas around Sablon and ave Louise, and monumental buildings including the Belgian parliament.
Basilica is situated in the Western part of the city on the hill. It was began to built in 1905 in honour of 75-years anniversary of Belgium independence. The works were long and WWI in 1914 stopped the process. The works were proceeded in 1919 but year by year the plans of the final construction were changed (WWII played the role too) and only in 1960's the building was finished. Although the interior we see nowadays exists since 1930.
I remember wandering around Brussels and seeing the pavement artists. Some of their work was incredible and seemed such a shame that people would eventually end up walking over their designs or rain would wash them away. There was always a crowd around them.
