Hotel Kriva Cuprija is a pearl in Mostar
This hotel is the best thing happened to us in 10 days vacation in the Balkans. The hotel was built in the style of the old town of stone and wood. The exterior is of antiques and interior high-modern style with a mix of old style
The room was excellent. Air-cond. Mini-bar nice modern new bathroom work. Room large and comfortable. The staff is friendly and you get the feeling that you are welcome. The restaurant is superb service food is very good. The hotel offers excursions to attractive locations. We had an unforgettable trip
The hotel is only 50-70 meters from the old bridge is located in the center of the old city of Mostar. All the bass, everything was fine at this hotel. I would recommend all this Hotel and restaurant to visit when in Mostar. It was nice and I felt at home in Madrid. All of us wish we had met. Thanks to all staff and owner in the Hotel Kriva Cuprija

Not so good
It isn’t the nearest you can get to the Old Bridge, and there’s a bit of a climb down a walkway / path from the road, so it isn’t really for people with mobility problems, but the setting of the hotel is excellent – in a cool, quiet green chasm (guests studiously ignore the occasional whiffs of raw sewage from the beck) just a few hundred yards from the hustle of the Old Bridge. Apart from that I didn’t like this place one bit
my room was lousy, with an extremely uncomfortable bed (too small, a hard, thin mattress) and no table or chair
I couldn’t get the shower to work
breakfast was v. mediocre: triangles of cheese in silver paper, sad, wet, hard-boiled eggs, some strange coloured squash instead of fruit juice, all obviously got ready the night before so as to avoid paying staff to come in early
Unique Quality: Good position, otherwise not much good

Motel Kriva Cuprija
Motel Kriva Cuprija was our first choice but unfortunately, when we arrived at 6PM, all their rooms were booked out. So, we have no first hand experience of Kriva Cuprija.
Unique Quality: It is very well situated, just overhanging Kriva Cuprija (the crooked bridge) and 100 m away from Stari most (the old bridge). It stands inside the old town of Mostar.
However, note that the name “motel” can be misleading: you cannot reach the motel with a car, they have no private parking and you have to park somewhere around, which we found rather difficult though we were off season.
I had read that in addition to Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian the staff spoke also English and German. However, when we were then, the only staff person in charge spoke only … Spanish (besides Bosnian of course). As my Spanish, though elementary, was better than my Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, I chose to use Spanish!

By the world famous Bridge of Mostar
If you visit the beautiful town of Mostar in Bosnia-Hercegovina, Kriva Cuprija ("The Crooked Bridge") is the best possible place to choose. It has a great location just 50 meters away from the world famous old bridge of Mostar, which was hundreds of years old, then destroyed in the war but now rebuilt and opened officially again in 2004. The reconstruction project was financed by UNESCO. The motel area is a World Heritage area. The surroundings were just breathtaking; the river Neretva giving its own colour to the "package".
In the middle of old stone buildings we had all modern standard services available. Everything was clean, breakfast included. But the most warming thing was the always so friendly service of the owner of the place. He picked us up from the nearby bus station with no extra charge, carried our bags, always smiling.
In addition to Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian also English and German are spoken by the staff.
I would defínitely recommend Mostar and Kriva Cuprija to anybody who is planning to visit Bosnia - Sarajevo is also a super place but don't leave it there. Everthing in the old town is in the walking distance.
Mostar and this facility took my heart. Those men in the tiny pub in the evening - starting to tell voluntarily about the war - perhaps they had a need to talk.
Another reason to recommend Bosnia is its low cost level (but you can still eat anything with no problem). They have delicious food.
Kriva Cuprija has good web pages and one can trust the facility and the staff.
Unique Quality: Roughly said the majority of the Christian people (Bosnians and Croatians) are living on the other side of the bridge and the muslims on the other side. During the war they had to fight against each other but now people flow back and forth in peace. Both sides are well worth seeing and have beautiful narrow streets and tiny shops.
Don't anyhow get scared when you see the signs of the war - the town is an interesting combination of ruins, forbidden areas (still granades and bombs left), houses full of holes, and on the other hand so much beautiful, especially in the old town.
It is so easy to go to Paris or London or New York - why not to dive deeply into a small place's heart, get to know these brave people and their country? As a "gift" you will certainly get a bunch of special different photos and a wonderful feeling inside. I fell in love with the place (also Sarajevo) and am a Bosnia fan nowadays. And am waiting for the next chance to get back.
