Historic accomodation: Muslibegovic House Mostar - Hotel/Museum

by MichaelFalk1969

The Muslibegovic House is a real gem! It is a historic mansion of the Ottoman period with a pretty courtyard; a small museum and a boutique hotel in one. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast is excellent, the location central, the price very affordable and the owners helpful & most friendly.

Modern, Cozy & Central !: Sarajevo-Home Apartments

by MichaelFalk1969

My experience with the short-term apartment rental agency "Sarajevo-Home" was a very positive one. I chose the apartment "City" which was modern & cozy, conveniently located, and available for a very sensible price. I was very impressed with the helpfulness of Sarajevo-Home`s friendly manager, Mrs. Tamara Hauptman: airport transfer was provided, and when I later missed a bus connection and got stranded in Foca, she quickly provided me with a bus timetable by SMS. Thanks a lot !

Pansion Mis: On Average

by toggle

Pansion Mis is just before Hotel Saraj looking at the city from the top. It is close to Bascarsi (old city center) athough not in the very hearth of the center. It is a new pension. we payed 25 euros per person per night.

Altough it was a new facility I can not say it was very clean (toilet in our room was dirty so they changed our room) and the owner does not seem to be very interested in the pension and staff.

we only stayed 1 night. infact on the way back from mostar we were planning to stay one more night in this pension but after aour first night we decided to look for another option.

Aparthotel Villa Nova - Neum: A bad experience

by fjorrodfer

I stayed in the Aparthotel Villa Nova during the last week of September and got caught by the bad feath of the Hotel owner. Thanks to Mr. Tomo Krešic (hotel owner) I also learned that unfortunately not all Bosniacs are trustable (contrary to my previous experiences).

We booked in advance 3 appartments (Breakfast included) to stay 5 nights with the family (6 adults) by the end of September. Mr. Krešic received us in a very (exagerated) good mood and gave us the possibility to choose between different appartments as the hotel wasn't overbooked. The Hotel has a fantastic view, although the facilities and the rooms available are quite far from the expected 4 stars (the dobble beds are bedsofas with very hard mattrasses and the rooms too small).
On the day of the arrival he offered us the Dinner and asked if we wanted full-pension which we promptly denied. He also highlighted that we should avoid to eat in Croatia in view of the speculative prices. Due to the daily insistence of Mr. Krešic, we decided to have dinner in his Aparthotel another 2 times.

The bad experience came up with the bill, which was much higher than expected (according to the published internet price list and the current competitors practice in Neum and eventually Dubrovnik). Mr. Krešic argued that the normal Dinner/buffet price/person (7€) didn't apply because we haven't choosen full-pension in advance. So, although there has never been a menu available and in the last 2 dinners we had to serve ourselves from the very same Buffet he decided to charge 20€/person/meal instead!

I also not recommend to leave the key of your car in this Aparthotel (asked for parking purposes) as your car may get scratched making the final loss much higher (happened in my case).

Great view and private beach.
Unfortunatly, the hotel owner doesn't seem to be trustable and therefore I recommend that all the prices are established in written prior to the stay. It is also advisable to pay with KM's instead of Euro as Mr. Krešic will surely apply a higher exchange rate. No credit cards are accepted.

Guest House Halvat: Stay in Sarajevo old town (Bascarsija)

by Kardrew

Very convenient location, a few minutes walk into the Turkish bazaars. we stayed in a room across the road which was clean and spacious. a very good breakfast in the main guest house where there is alos a comfortable lounge, books etc. There is parking for one car outside (with video surveillance), but a neighbour kindly offered to let us put our hired car in a lockable garage.

Conveneint location. Great views across teh city at night when the light come on on the minarets.

Hostel Sarajevo: Fun and Funky

A fun, noisy, messy, and overall fun place to stay. The staff goes out of their way to help you out and provide you with a wonderful Sarajevo experience. I met Vagabonden there!

General tip about accommodation in BIH: Places to stay in BIH

by Tobias_Plieninger

In Bosnia there hotels in all categories. The upper category is a little rare.

If you are a friend of budget accommodation you will sure find one.

In Sarajevo there are homestays possible. Sometimes peopel don't want money for it.

If you search a hotel you will sure find one.

The hotels in all categories are at a low price and affordable.

The rooms are at a normal standard in general.

Is not so good as the Talija Hotel, but is an alternative, in case the Talija is full.

This hotel has "4 stars", but for me it is a 3 stars hotel.

The prices are about the same of Talija Hotel

It's modern, central, good rooms, well educated staff, and not expensive.
