Hello, Does anyone have prices for a single ticket from BUDAPEST to SARAJEVO on 06/08/08??

I have found out that the IC 802 goes every day, but can't find a price.

Hi! You can buy the ticket when you get to Budapest and I recommend doing it a day in advance if you can. (August is busy in the region 'cause of the festivals and it's still high season). The return ticket is approx 13.000 HUF ( about 50 Euro) but I don't know how much is a single ticket (it's probably about 30 Euros).

Actually they achieved what they wanted, but all Europe and the world knew from that.. was a pitty that nobody did nothing till one moment that thousand of people had already died !!

Its spectacular looking at the top from the street and it remaind there as a memory of the holocaust !!

The war damage in Sarajevo is horrible, even though it has been cleaned up a bit since the end of the war. The picture below shows the newspaper building that has been left as a monument to the madness of war.

If you want Italian coffee with great cakes....

by FRONA

Near the eternal flame in the Street of Marsal Tito towards Ferhadija, the recently opened cafe and sweets shop VATRA offers a very nice modern atmosphere, cosy setting and my favorite Italian coffee, ILLY CAFE. I also checked out their cakes and they look great. Its run by young people and mind me saying that that was the only place in Sarajevo that had brown sugar. In about 5-6 cafes I ordered cafe latte and got a very small cup with strong coffee and a bit of milk but if you are a cafe latte lover, here you will get a large cup!

It takes a minute or two from Bascarsija and you're off the tourist stream. Views revealing reality, new houses growing together with old, one replacing other cohabiting, depends on economy. Trees grow from yards, yet they soften hard edges of the human habitat. Those luckier ones were able to to build new, or to rebuild walls and replace windows, others continue to go on with what was left, adding changes slowly ... houses built close together, one upon another as hill ascend.

Ilidza - a spa just couple...

by Marcin75

Ilidza - a spa just couple miles from Sarajevo, on the Zeljeznica River, with famous sulphur baths, beautiful spring of the Bosna River (Vrelo Bosne) and lots of minefields. Ilidza is a good place if you are looking for a reasonably priced accomodation close to Sarajevo. Access to the city centre - very easy, by tram.
