bristol hotel: another one,under reconstruction (today!!!)

    It's bizarre. A couple of old sleeper carriages, and a restaurant car, have been converted into a guesthouse.

    Don t think you will find accomodations in Sarajevo so easily. It s not a tourist target. You can find some hotels but they can be expensive. Well, at least they were for me. A hotel could cost u$s70 daily. Instead of this you must take this option. I ve been at Mustafa's pension. Mustafa is an old muslim bosnian who lives with his wife Latifa. They are both great, my bosnian parents are friendly, and hospitality. You will feel at home, cause they make you feel like that. Price for night including breakfast is u$s12. Just prepare to learn some words in serbio-croatian first, cause they don t speak english or spanish...but it will be a funny experience, and they will find out a way to communicate with you. By the way, they are fans of argentine soaps!
    Address is: ulica Marsala Tita 35, 4°th floor (VERY good location in the center of the city). Phone number is 668-645 (u should check country and city code if you want to call from abroad, but I did from there). If you go to them, please mention about that their argentinean son recommended you :)

    • 70 KM (35 EUR) for a double.

    It's in fact a private flat which Mustafa and his wife rent by night and thus make a few extra bob. Its location is excellent, couldn't be better really.

    Old Cliffie stayed at the Bristol Hotel. Okay, that was a long time ago, since the next time he saw it was on CNN, with flames leaping from the upper storey windows. The hotel was on the front line, close to sniper alley.

    • The most famous is the hotel chain Holiday Inn in Sarajevo which is very easy to find.
    But there are many other hotels, motels and also private accommodations that are very cheap (10-15 EURO for private).
    The rooms are very clean and good looking.

    • We stayed here to visit Sarajevo. It's a nice camping, with enough shadow and nice facilities. Everything is clean, and there also is a restaurant at the campsite (I only drank a beer there (3KM)). To stay there with two persons in one tent costed 13KM. There goes a tram to the city center, about a 15 minute trip.

    • Yes-great location, clean, good service...

    Has its own spirit;) and also good restaurant (see Maroko tip in restaurant tips of mine if u wish)

    Hostel LJUBIČICA: functional but ghetto hostel next to downtown

    • This is a pretty ghetto hostel with a grungy bathroom, but it's close to everything important. The lounge is full of hippie travellers and is dirty as heck.

    no curfew! and it's smack next to everything important in Sarajevo.
