Booking in is done at the tour office. The office owns quite a few different locations. The main hostel is behind the office, but if they are full they will give you accomodation in one of many overspill houses. The main hostel was booked out when I arrived so I stayed in one of these overspills. It was very basic but gives you everything you would need in a great location.

I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Sarajevo and the Astra is my favourite. Great location, nice rooms, obliging staff and good rates. Hard to beat! We went to Exclusive Hotel, 10 km far from Sarajevo Center (on the road coming from Travnik). We usually are business travel, and we prefer to stay in a comfortable place: this new 4 stars hotel is really luxury and quite cheap. Rooms come with all the goods: wi-fi, satellite TVs with LCD monitors, minibar, safe deposit boxes and cool original paintings by local artists.
Guests can found two restaurants offering buffet or menu ŕ la carte; a lounge with satellite TV and music, fitness centre with sauna, massage center and hairdresser.
Prices are really low, but the service is 1st level.
You can easily change money at the reception, but we have had no problems paying in Euros everywhere.
The mountains beyond can easily cancel the scenic of the nearby outside that is not so impressive, but when you drive for 5 minutes to Sarajevo the panorama slowly turn into something spectacular.
The staff is polyglot, helpful and friendly: if you need something you have only to ask, and everyone will make everything to give you the best assistance.

Hotel Hecco is a fairly new hotel. Very nice interior, friendly staff, clean, good breakfast, Indoor parking with 24 hour video surveillance and security alarm insurance, all hotel rooms and apartments include computers with direct internet access
We paid 56,50 Euros for a twin room. It's not low budget, but more than ok for people who are not into backpacking.

I stayed at the Identico Hostel in Sarajevo for one night - we meant to stay there for two nights, but we decided to leave after one night. The location is very good - but there are several other hostels directly in the city center and similarly priced. The room was simple, it had a bathroom and single beds. It was quite dark, but that was not that bad, especially that you normally only sleep in such a hostel. The worst problem, however, were the extremely thin walls - you could hear absolutely everything that was going on in the building, every single word. It wasn't made any easier by owners' attitude - instead of trying to quiet down the people that were going in and out at 2 am, they talked to them as if there weren't any other tourists in the hostel.
Another problem was that the room in which we stayed was located downstairs, just next to the entrance and the reception. A bell was hanging above the entrance doors and each time anybody entered the buiding, it was ringing.

Tihs pension is very close to the city center Bascarsi. Very clean, newly renovated Bosnian house. The owner and the maneger of the pension is friendly and kind people. The pension has air conditioning, tv and shower in the rooms. I enjoyed staying in this little place - it's inexpensive enough for a student if one stays there longer. My room had two beds and a bathroom, and the first night cost 34 KM with passport registration done by the owners, with 25 KM after that I think. It is very close to the Bašcaršija market quarter - it is almost located on it. I'd definitely recommend it to others.

We had to stay one night in Hotel Relax House. Never again. The room wasn't that bad. Fairly clean. But the reception was not interested at all in earning money. Breakfast was gross, the coffee nothing more than dishwater. The receptionist who also prepared breakfast almost through it on our table. We were glad to move back to Hotel Hecco.
