Discos (latino) in Sozopol or near towns

by trono

Hello everybody,

I will be in Sozopol in the beginning of July so I'm interested in clubs where latin+american music (salsa, merengue) is played.
Can someone recommend me a place to go?

Cheers
Elena

I am answering my own post :)). he-he :))
In Sozopol there were not original night places where only latin-american music was played. No salsa, no merengue, only commercial disco music. There was one bar called Tequila bar located in Old Town on the water where I heard some spanish and latino music, but this is a bar and dance floor is too small.
At disco called Horizon DJ played Ruslana's Wild Daces!!! I will tell later more about Sozopol at my personal page.

Travel Tips for Sozopol

Cliffs and Sea

by timada

Here is my favourite spot in Sozopol ! I could stay in this place and watch the waves of the sea without boring myself lots of time... The cliffs are huge and the wind is blowing with power . I would like to see this place in winter : it could be a remarkable experience . If you like to take pictures and make videos with seagulls , waves , cliffs go there , it's worth it !Enter the courtyard of the Art gallery and go to the sea .Be happy , enjoy the view and think that you riched the end of the world :-)

Photo 2 : Enter this courtyard and you will see the sea !

Rocky Beach

by ChristinaNest

My favourite is a rocky beach surrounding the Old Town. There is no sand but some of the rocks are flat and comfortable. It's fun to climb them too. Between some of the rocks in the central part there's a small pool where the water is deep enough so you can just from the surrounding rocks. This beach is just opposite of St. Ivan's island and could be used for a starting point for a swim to the island. This is only for very experienced swimmers, however, so I don't recomend it.
Thre are not too many tourists as they prefer the sandy beaches but often you can see art students sketching this beautiful place.

Ethnographical Exposition

by bijo69

You'll find this small collection of traditional tools, handicraft and dresses in a beautiful restored revival style house in the old town. So far there's just one room with exhibits, but there are plans to enlarge the museum.
Opening times are Monday to Sunday from 9am-5pm and admission is 1 BGN.

Sozopol - My Second Home to be!

"Sozopol, Budjaka"

Sozopol by the sea... In winter! Very coldbut still very nice, this is a picture of my apartment and as you can see the pool is frozen. Budjaka is situated in the "New Town" of Sozopol. The New town benifits from some fantastic views across the bay and looks across to the "Old Town" of Sozopol. There is much building going on at the moment (this picture was taken in Jan 2006. Many developments are shooting up but under the close watch of the local council whom have imposed an excellent maximum height restriction which means the roof tops of the terracotta tiles blend in nicely with lovely historic Old Town.

"Views"

As mentioned above the views are lovely.

"Snow Storm Anyone!?"

Now dont get put off by this weather!

Whilst i was visiting Sozopol i experienced temperatures of sub -20!!! It was unbelievable. This lasted for around 2-3 days and then brightened up, i couldn t tell you if this is the normal weather to expect at this time of year but i will keep you posted. Most of the locals said that they couldnt remember the last time they had felt the cold so bitter in years! I am guessing that this was a not a usual storm that came in, at least i hope not.
