Travel Tips for Sozopol
A lovely old town
I've been to Sozopol 5 years ago. It's quite a lovely town, especially the historical part with all those limestone houses, windmills, narrow streets and cobbled pavements. However the town is really small and those 2 weeks seemed endless to me, so much was I bored. Anyway, it's a far better place to go then Albena, for the town is less touristic and has a personal charm.
There are relatively spectacular rocks nearby, but the town beach is flat and sandy. I drank coffee in a small white terasse standing on a steep shore and watched the sun go down and island of St.John in twilight . I saw many beautiful places aftewards but this sight is one of the strongest impressions I ever had.
Take a boat trip on the Ropotamo river in the Ropotamo Reserve. The River Ropotamo has a diverse landscape ranging from cliffs and forests to sandy beaches, dunes and swamps; the Arkutino swamp is a shelter for many rare bird species.
Art Gallery BISSERA
There is an Art Gallery BISSERA in the Old Sozopol. You can buy there beautiful paintings with the Sozpolo’s views but not only, interesting graphics, photos, plastic, wooden and earthen arts. It’s ideal place to buy original gifts.
Sunny, Windy and Watery Sozopol!!!
I have finally come to Sozopol, Bulgaria after crossing the border of Ukraine and Romania. It's a very nice and cozy town consisting of the Old and New Towns. It has two beaches, port and naval base at the Old Town side. Many cheap restaurants and cafes, not so many tourists as in August.
A view of the New Town from the central beach
Looks like the New Town but it's the Old one, what's the difference? :)
Snapshot was taken from the cafe on the cliffy slope. The best view in the whole town!
