With TAXI to.....

by desert_princess

An absolute rip off for a single person .
See tip above on what you pay for bus Tickets to same destination
For example : considering that a bus ticket Sunny Beach-Bourgas one way is 4lv , both ways 8 lv - the price of 100lv is 10 times more ( Sunny Beach - Nessebar - 70stotinki ) .
I can not be sure if this means the taxi will stay with you during your shopping and sighseeing trip (and for this will waste the whole day) or whatever you decide to do or just drop you and leave ,but well - it's up to you to decide after all how to spend your money...Maybe it pays off when the taxi is full so you can split the costs with the others.
Try to bargain the price down - it works for me...

Hi, there!
Writing as a native Bulgarian, I'd really reccommend you NOT to go to Sunny Beach. Reasons - it is quite overcrowded, there is too much noise from construction sites, it's often dirty from building materials. That is because many hotels are have been built there recently. Regardless of that, I am absolutely sure that you would enjoy visiting Nessebar which is practicly stuck to Sunny beach and has marvellous ruins to be seen.
Regards!

I'm a native Bulgarian, too, but I think that you can have a jolly good time at Sunny Beach, anyway. August is hot but hopefully most of the construction works would have been stopped. There are nice dunes and exotic plants at Sunny Beach, and you can always go to Nessebar which is a stone's throw away to catch a glimpse of ancient history.

hi there, i for one am not a native however went to sunny beach last year, and i have to admit, the people there were probably the nicest and the most helpfull than i have seen in a long time even at home, the night life is amazing and it is so multicultural, i would make the most of going now because prices are still low to catch it before bulgaria is part of the eu and everyone catch s wind i hope it dont lose its charm but have a abd feeling people will abuse it on the long run like spain. amazing scenery at yopur door step go for a day out to nessubar and try everything from the food the drinks (Rakia) im going bak this year for 2 weeks. A++++

Another "native Bulgarian" advise - well, depends what you are looking for ... If you want a beach resort, noisy kids, crowded beaches, casinos, etc than go to Sunny Beach. I do not think that there is anything "multicultural" in it except that maybe there are some Roma people begging on the street. But that's not my idea of multiculturalism ..:)

native bulgarian too.
sunny beach was my favourite place two or three years ago.now- too many people, hotels, noise... if you like discos and parties - u would be delighted.but if u wish to rest on an isolated beach area- forget about it...we have some other not so crowded places on the black sea :)
