Hi there
Just returned from 2 weeks in Sunny Beach, staying at the Hotel Meridian. The look of the hotel is very modern and in a good location. The reception area has several comfortable chairs and tables, a 24-hour bar, souvenir shop, hairdressers, tattoo shop, Doctors and Internet room. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful and check in was a breeze, 2 minuets max. The rooms are of average size, with a TV, telephone, and air-conditioning and plenty of storage on shelf’s and in drawers for our clothes. The bathroom is very small but they do have a hairdryer. The shower is very small so when you have a shower the water runs off the curtain and onto the floor, this is supposed to happen as they are wet rooms and the water will drain away, this however makes it very dangerous when stepping out of the shower so be very careful. All the rooms have balconies. There are 4 lifts, two in reception, (carry a maximum of 6 people), two at the rear of the hotel, (one of which was always out of order, carry a maximum of 4 people), with 500+ guests and the restaurant on the 11th floor and the lifts carrying a maximum of 20 people at any one time, it doesn’t take a mathematician to work out there’s going to be trouble at meal times, some people were waited for 20 minutes. The restaurant is much better run this year, and although the food hasn’t’ improved, the waiters are much more attentive. We were only B&B so only had breakfast, which was the same every morning, 3 or 4 cereals, fruit, rolls & croissants and something they called ‘English breakfast’? The swimming pool is just about big enough for the size of the hotel. All in all this is a very good hotel, very clean, friendly, in a very good position for shopping, drinking, eating and the beach (5min), towels changed every day, sheeting changed 4 times in our two weeks, if they could only improve the bathrooms and the lift problem this would be an excellent hotel.
