Stayed in Hotel Saturn and Kuban this year Fiesta: Hotels are getting a lot better
  • Tip Rating:
  • Stayed at the saturn in 2000 I would recommend it as basic, 2003 stayed at the Kuban old hotel just been refurbished high rise 220 floors service here was second to none, my daughter stayed at The Globus which she said she would definitely go back to.

Kuban is a highrise hotel facing the Black Sea in a very central position.

  • Tip Rating:
  • I stayed in hotels in small town Kitten and also in Sozopol. Another time we rented an appartment in Nesebur. Hotels were quite good, clean and peaceful. Not many entertainment facilities. Price for double room was 28-36USD (late 90s) half pension. But I liked more staying in an appartment (8USD per person in July).

Hebros Hotel in Old Plovdiv: Hebros Hotel in Old Plovdiv
  • Tip Rating:
  • $75, double room

This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever lived in. It's very small, only a few rooms, and the service is excellent. We also had a wonderful dinner in their back-yard. Their motto was something like slow and restful, which is was. Old Plovdiv is worth visiting and if you do, this is the place to stay! We paid $75 for an air-conditioned room for two, incl. breakfast.

  • Tip Rating:
  • SKI RESORTS IN BOROVETS AND PAMPOROVO (southern Bulgaria), open from mid-December through March. This photo is of Pamporovo, which is situated in the Rodopa Mountains... home of the mythical Thracian singer Orpheus. (In the Bulgarian version of the story, Orpheus' love 'Eurydice' is known as 'Rodopa'.)

  • Tip Rating:
  • Sofia has the usual options, but in the countryside there are great little 'folk' type places and spas that are really special. Good food, great facilities and music and dance. The country is filled with hotels and options to stay. Check them all out good before hand. ESPECIALLY IN SOFIA!
