BudaPest hotel: Perfect Location

by fdylan

A well priced, perfect location for tourists. The room was warm although the fridge didnt work and neither did the air conditioning. beds were creaky but comfy and the bathroom was perfect. I recommend it for both families and couples because of the room and especially for tourist because it is so close to everything.

5 minutes away from a mosque, springs, 5 churches, roman architecture, free tours and the justice building

Hotel Berlin: Sofia nice and cosy hotel

by Irena_Romeva

I have been staying for two days in Sofia and this is a first time I have been pleasantly surprised with the nice atmosphere in this quite large hotel.

I liked the hotel because it was quite spacious and offered much more than the average hotels with similar price and style. It had an indoor pool, rooms are quite spacious and sparkling clean :)

Staff was extremely helpful and attentive, price is ~60 euros

Sv Nikola Hotel: Nice SPA Hotel

by MacedonianUK

We stayed in Sv Nikola Hotel in the hart of Sandanski SPA town is souther Bulgaria for 5 days.
The hotel has 4* and I think it deserves the stars but some things can be inproved on.. Bigest Grippe I had that the rooms were on the smalish side, altho they had everything you need, AC, TV, Fridge, free WIFI.. The bathroom was more of an wet room but all was new and clean, bonus was that they had hot termal spa water in the taps....
We had decent balkony (another minus is that only 2 rooms on every floor have balkonies (we were lucky to get one) and its right in the middle of the pedestrian zone..
It is nice and quiet, in the hotel yet onece you are out you are in the middle of everything..
We were there in June 2011, which is dead seazon for the SPA.
Neverthe less, it was pleasant stay as for 43 Euros a day we had B&B in double room and got upgraded to HB. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet affairs.
But again the hotel was build in the Comunist era and when it was privatised the new owner done good job of quick remedy, but nothing you can do to the size of the rooms.. :(
The hotel has pool, and prerequisit, masage, turkish bath and beauty center. Some treatmants were included in the price some warent, but it wasnt that expencive so it was OK.
ONE MAJOR GRIPPE: Bulgarians still DO NOT COPREHEND the concept of costumer Service.
luckely in the hotel was inpecable, but out of the door..Discracefull.

Karavansarays: A good guest house in Bulgaria

by pipilota72

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. The owners are very friendly and speak perfect English. They picked us up from the airport and were available for help anytime we needed it. We were planning to trek the Rilal mountain so they provided us with information about routes and also advised us on less visited off the beaten track places to go. We had nice breakfast every morning - pancakes and home made blueberry jam, which was yummy!

The place is suitable for children as well, because it is in a small town, on a very quiet street. Our daughter loved it!There is a big garden with a bbq, which is available for their guests, also organic fruits and vegetables from their garden. We were there in the summer so there was a variety of fresh veg in the garden.
The house is in a small town called Belovo, which is between the capital Sofia and another big city Plovdiv. We gathered that it is on the main train line of Bulgaria.

Les Magnolias Hotel

by dusica_stamenik

I spend 3 days in this hotel, the reason was wine seminar and I was very impressed by the hole organization. We had half time to learn some news about wine and the rest of the day to enjoy in many hotel facilities..If you have opportunity to go in Primorsko,Bulgaria I recommend you stay in this beautiful french hotel

It's 4 star hotel, arranged as a complex, rooms are very clean, big, with balcony ,there are few pools outside in the center of this complex, very delicious food and drinks. With so many specialties an delicious wines you will have a feeling like you are in France!I can recommend you to try some of the great massages they make in the spa center or you can spend relaxing time in to the sauna and closed swimming pool. There is a big hall for conferences, bar, internet, shop.
The hotel is right next to the beautiful beach so you can also enjoy in the Black Sea.
I would love to go there again!

Hilton - Sofia: Simple Choice. Familiar place. Hilton. Sofia

by acommon1

Location and Trust.

Being my 1st trip to Bulgaria, I opted for a hotel chain that I could trust. Traveling by one's self, you have to trust where you lay your head. I love challenges ... but not always.

Sofia's Hilton property met my expectations. Definitely not a luxury hotel. Purely in & out. All business.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming in their own reserved manner.

Security was visible but not overtly armed. They looked professional.

As for comfort, nothing too special but the hotel met my expectations.

No special views.

The mini-executive lounge didn't meet my expectations at least when it comes to comfort. Otherwise, they nailed it with the quality of food and drinks on display. Compliments to the chef and staff that maintained the small lounge. The desserts were delightful (See picture).

Location matters. You can walk to a number of places from here.

Also, the concierge and bell men can offer you great advice as where to go in Sofia. Call me a sucker but, some how, I felt less steering by these guys. They came across authentic. Restaurant selection even makes me hungry now.

As for tours, see the concierge for help. They referred me to this one gentleman. He was awesome. A former Bulgarian Army Tank driver who really knew his way around the city and countryside. I wish that I still had his business card. If I had it to do it all over again, I would only work with this gentleman again. Plus, I'd give him a HUGE tip. People like him are hard to find. He's a quality family man that is optimistic about life.

Guesthouse Priyateli: Wonderful Accomodation in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

by Eatain

This place was just great. The owner came to pick us up with his car from the tourist information center, and helped us with our bags. The room was clean and comfortable, but he best thing about the place was the owners and the service. In the morning they make you home-made breakfast, egg, toasts, ham, coffee, orange juice, and everything you would ask. you are served to the balcony, enjoying the morning. The owners do no understand good English, but it wasn't a problem and we had a great time staying at this place.
If you visit Veliko Tarnovo, try this guesthouse and you won't regret it.

Warm and friendly owners. small place so you are being taken care of personaly.

Hotel Leipzig, Plovdiv: A good splash out for 2-3 stars - Plovdiv

by angiebabe

I had arrived at Plovdiv in the dark, driving up from my days drive from Sofia to Rilska Monastery and Bansko - arriving in a city with main roads that composed of tunnels that went under and around the city and following the map was rather difficult - but being on a main road was one of the easiest landmarks to head for - it was advertised in my Lonely Planet as being a good 2 star/budget hotel - I think it must be more like 3 star as right from the reception the service and decor is good quality.

48 euro for a single room, or 93 Leva, or single luxury room as is called by Hotel Leipzig, the reception staff were very helpful - parking was provided in front of reception with ticket and boom gate security.
24 hour reception and bar - with drinks and snacks available all night. As it was my birthday I wanted to try some Bulgarian wine - they directed me to the restaurant supervisor and then to another staff member who is a bit of a wine expert and she totally recommend to splash out on their Khum Traminer - it was 15 euro for a bottle but it really was as excellent as she said it would be.

The room was very clean - with interesting red wallpaper and carpet, and matching red and black with flowers tiles in the bathroom. Huge window with night views - that included fireworks going off at several times - and then daylight views to the old town - only problem was that the hairdryer had been attached to the wall so close to the towel hanger that the hairdryer kept dislodging and starting up with a loud noise. Also the internet connection that was apparently included via the cable I was given would not connect. and when tried to phone reception the phone made no connection.

The buffet breakfast that is included is excellent!
