Hotel Bulgaria: Haskovski Mineralni Bani

Haskovski Mineralni Bani (Haskovo's Mineral Baths) village is located in the south-western skirts of Rodopi mountain, about 20 km away both from Haskovo and Dimitrovgrad.

The hotel is at the entrance of the village and should be easy to find. If you can't just stop at the gas station and they will give you directions.

A truly unique quality of the hotel is the mineral water. It is good for treating Burger disease as well as for other diseases. I heard that there are only two other places in the world with such water - one in the States and one in Europe.

The pool is filled with this water. It is warm but not too hot, so you can still swim in it.

The open garden tavern is pretty nice, the food is good and cheap but the service is a bit slow.

The rooms are a bit small but otherwise they are OK. Not all the rooms have air conditioning, if you want such a room there is a small extra charge (5 leva - about EUR 2.5).

There is one serious drawback - the smell of the canalisation is terrible at times.

The price I paid was BGN 30 which is about EUR 15 but it is the price applicable to Bulgarians, if you are foreigner you will probably get a higher price. So, better call and ask in advance.

Please, excuse the quality of the picture but I took it in the middle of the night from my room :)
