I have recently returned to the UK from Bulgaria during which time I stayed in Hostels and Hotels in different parts of the country but have no hesitation in recommending The Phoenix Hostel in Veliko Tarnovo as the stand out accommodation of my trip. Nick and Cathy are the perfect hosts unobtrusive but always on hand if you need any help with directions or recommendations of places to visit or eat.
The breakfasts were excellent and put to shame the hotels I stayed in - The beds with thick mattresses and crisp white sheets ensured a good nights sleep.
The Phoenix is called a Hostel because their rooms allow multiple occupation in every other way this could be mistaken for a very comfortable Hotel.
Thank you Nick and Cathy for an enjoyable stay.
