There is a counter in the airport where you can make a reservation for a taxi of a reliable company. This is only necessary is you mistrust taxi's that are already waiting for you in front of the entrance of the airport. Normally people get a taxi over there into town. Ask in advance what it is going to cost you or make sure the meter is working. If you prefer to book a taxi in advance: see: http://bgtaxi.com/ good luck!

Sofia and horses

by desert_princess

Some gipsy families still own a carriage pulled by a horse instead of using a car. used mainly for construction works or collecting second hand things around the center , especially in sunday when the traffic is low. Not an uncommon sight.

Chess

by ChristinaNest

There are chess tables in the small park in front of the National Theatre. You can watch or play with the professionals. Until last year, both women's and men's chess world champions were Bulgarian.

This is the building of the state-owned insurance company on Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard, right next to the intersection with G. S. Rakovski street. I recently read in a newspaper that there's a small restaurant offering a unique atmosphere on the roof. Might want to check it out. I know I certainly will when time permits.

Alcohol

by hekate about Alcohol

Not much to say about the place. Just another club where you can go and dance.

OK, basically they have to halls. One of them is disc - loud music, a couple of bars, dancing floor. Personaly I prefer the second hall - it is something like chill out zone. Decorated in oriental style with sofas, quiet music and water pipes :)))

Working hours:
from 18:00 h to whenever it finish :) Waer whatever you feel comfortable.
