Radisson Sas Grand

The Radisson SAS Grand Hotel is located in an attractive part of Sofia centre, on the famous yellow paved square. The hotel is close to the parliament and Alexander Nevski Cathedral. It's also close to the the business district and the tourist attractions.
The hotel has 134 rooms, and it takes 10 minutes to drive to the airport.

I have been staying in this hotel since the eighties. The location is superb; near the opera, museums, government buildings, and historic churches. View from rooms on the front look out on to Parliament Square (Naradno Sobranie) and on to the Alexander Nevsky Patriarchal Cathedral as well as the Parliament Building. Always comfortable it has changed much since its Balkan Tourist days as the Grand Hotel Sofia (a name now improperly appropriated by a dull new high rise hotel).
Try it, you'll like it. The staff are most accommodating and cheerful.

Unique Quality: See above about the view from rooms on the front. From the upper floors on the rear you can see snow covered Mount Vitosha most of the year. There is a casino in the hotel building.

The rooms are very large and fitted out with all he appliances one would need. The rooms were very well kept, overall the whole hotel was of a very high standard. Reception was a bit cold, but other than that I had a very nice stay. The Irish hotel bar served very nice food, but wasn't a place to hang out if you were seeking some fun.
There was a nice little club 5 minutes walk, "Bedroom" which was a lot of fun.

Unique Quality: Much larger than standard rooms.

The Radisson is located right across the square from the most important monument in Sofia, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The location is great. It's a little bit quiet, but it is not far at all from the main shopping area and I believe along with the Sheraton, has probably one of the best locations in the city. The service was outstanding--I had written an email to the hotel prior to my arrival asking if they could accmmodate me in a room facing the square and high up, and they were so nice and so accommodating and I had really a spectacular view of the Parliament and Cathedral illuminated at night.

Room was big and comfortable, internet in room worked great, and breakfast was just fine. I can highly recommend a stay here!

Very comfortable helped by the fact that i'd been upgraded to a junior suite. Facilities very good and location and view from bedroom stunning.

Bar area a bit stuffy but the Irish Bar next door ( access from Hotel) was reasonable.

Spa area had limited facilities.

Radisson SAS, Hotel in Sofia is located in the opposite the Parliament building and the Cathedral Alexander Nevsky, within walking distance of the city center where the major tourist sights. Panorama restaurant, located on 6th floor with unique view over the city.

Directions: opposite of parliament building

This is my first choice of hotels in Sofia. Close enough to downtown, nice views, decent restaurants, good service, entertaining neighborhood, nice rooms... About half the price of the Sheraton, and much more quiet.

Unique Quality: The hotel offers more than 100 rooms including suites and luxurious Business Class rooms, a restaurant opened for all day dining, a bar, conference and fitness centres...

There's also an Irish pub, a Sofia Night Club with live show, a Casino London and an Arabian restaurant within the hotel premises.

Directions: close to the cathedral

Radisson SAS Grand Hotel is located in the heart of Sofia, on a walking distance from all governmental institutions, banks, cultural and tourist sites. Good both for businessmen as well as for tourists.

The surrounding area offers shops, cafes, discotheques and clubs with live music and entertainment.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. If you get a room at the 4th floor or above, facimg the square, you will have one of the best views in town, especialy at night.

What I find as a drawback is that the roomservice is a bit slow.
