Prepaid SIM plans in Bulgaria?

Prepaid SIM plans in Bulgaria?

I wonder which company, VIVA TEL, or MTEL is the better option for a prepaid SIM in Bulgaria. I am visiting Bulgaria for 1 month only, and ONLY need to send local TEXT messages (probably a lot of them) to dozens of Bulgarian cellular numbers. Most of those numbers begin with 088, but there are some 089 as well.

Does anyone know which umbers belong to MTEL, and which are VIVATEL numbers? Is there a fast way of finding out that kind of information online? I need to do it every time I get a new national SIM. I would like to get the cheaper plan (especially for sending, and recieving SMS, and maybe a couple local calls).

Thanks,

and ps. I think there is a third plan - Globus.

Hi,

the operators are 3 - Mtel,Globul and Vivatel ,they are almost the same-but the first 2 I think are little bit better.Actually you can't understand which number to which operator is,because you can change the operater. But this service showed up soon,so mainly you can catch them. For Mtel-088,Globul-089,Vivatel-087
The sms price to foreign countries is 0.22lv for Mtel and Globul and 0.30lv for Vivatel, they don't include IVA-20%.Here I post links:

Hope I could help

Travel Tips for Sofia

Mineral Water Springs

by Izvor

I have had people asking me if the water in Sofia/Bulgaria is good for drinking... Here is what I have to say on this matter:
Bulgaria is well known for the big number of Mineral Water Springs. You can find water of any taste depending on the spring it comes from... soft and sweet, sharp and mineralized, common one... You can buy it in bottles of 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 l , 1,5 l and 5 l. It is good and very healthy.
And when I say healthy, it is good to mention that at each Mineral Water Spring normaly there are Baths which are well known for their good impact on health. For more information, please check the helpful site mentioned bellow!

However the water coming from the sink could be not really good. Which depends on the local piping system. It is always good if you can make sure you let the water flow for a minute or two before you drink it.

Wedding - the Bulgarian way

by desert_princess

I don't know how you decorate your cars for the most important day in your life / we call it "blind sunday"/ ironicly/ but here is one good example of a car driving the bride. Just to let you know if you see it ...
and a sweet detail from the car front cover :))

One bag only

by gebezis

I would suggest you to carry little luggage because here you can find almost everything and for very cheap prices. The climate is temperate so it depandes on the season. The winter usually is very cold and the summer often very hot. There are plenty of drug-stores here so I believe you can find almost everything you'd need. A camera would be enough.

What travellers miss the most...

by conservomat

What travellers miss the most when they visit Sofia is the rest of the country. Sofia is easily the ugliest part ofBulgaria, and is not particularly representative of Balkan culture. Check out Plovdiv's old town or the Black Sea coast if you can. There are also great mountains and amazing monasteries.

not just for the night

by say-no-more about buddha bar

we heard that buddha bar was open 00-24. so we decided to pay it a visit... it was about 5 am when we came in. there was no other guests and the waitresses were sleeping on the bench! we woke them up and ordered some big lots-of-everything-inside cocktails and hot sandwiches with 3 kinds of cheese and eggs and tomatoes... i thought they were going to kill us for that! but infact they were very nice and kind to us!
