Centrally located
The hotel was very comfortable - double glazing meant that it was still relatively quiet when I chose to have a siesta even though my room was above a busy part of Pirotska Street. The rooms were clean and bathrooms well-appointed, although carpets were showing signs of needing a good clean. There was an adequate breakfast bar, serving between 7am and 10am and there was also a hotel restaurant, although I did not use this. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I would, however, advise against using their airport transfer service - a cab called will be a lot cheaper (from the arrivals hall of the airport it cost BGN 9 (i.e. EUR 4.50) to the hotel by cab. It made a very good base from which to tackle Sofia - it was central and in a pretty safe area - and booking online I paid about EUR 71 a night. The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel, although the facilities would probably have been closer to 3 star than 4 star. The hotel does have spa facilities, although I did not take advantage of these.
Unique Quality: Location wise the Sveta Sofia Hotel is very centrally located - being only 200m from the Mosque, Synagogue and Market Hall and TSUM and about 5 minutes walk to the Vitosha bd.
