For a reasonably-priced city centre hotel this suited me fine. It's neither "Elite" nor a "Palace" but staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean, spacious and characterfully-furnished. Freebie Wi-Fi works perfectly (there are computers for guest use in the lobby at 1 lev per hour) and there's a well-stocked bar and snack service available.
Unique Quality: This is ideally located, minutes walk from the Old City and the corner location with its bright red signage makes it easy to find.
I've stayed here a few times now and would stay again if I ever stay the night in Plovdiv again. This hotel is very convenient for the centre of Plovdiv for everything from the nightlife to the Roman ruins. The hotel is clean, has satellite TV (with the dodgy channels included at no extra cost if you like that sort of thing!), tea and coffee making facilities, en suite bathrooms and the choice of twin, double or family rooms. The rooms are bright and airy with lovely high ceilings and air-conditioning which you will need if staying in the summer. It is a fairly small hotel on three or four floors and I don't remember there being a lift so it's a no-go for disabled access (I think) and you might need to book ahead of your stay depending on the time of year. We've had a couple of great nights out in Plovdiv involving the consumption of a wide variety of vodkas and cocktails and it's not far to stagger home at 3am! If you make it in time the next morning they do serve breakfast at an extra cost.

The city is liveliest in early evening when the citizenry turns out for the korso, the traditional promenade. The favorite route is up and down Knyaz Aleksandar, downtown's main street, lined with shops, restaurants, bars, night clubs and sidewalk cafes. On almost any street, in either 'Old Town' or the modern city you will find friendly kafes where you can savor a fresh coffee. juice or soda and plan your day. you will find a warm welcome with efficient, attentive personal service and excellent fare. In sharp contrast to the seeming-anarchy of Sofia the capital, any visitor to Plovdiv will find a relaxing, friendly and charming city.
Bulgarians are particularly proud of their heritage and this street mural celebrates the 1300th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Nation in 681 AD by Khan Asparukh.
I'm not sure what street this was as I was just wandering when it caught my eye. It was only once I'd got back home that I found out what it was all about. The 1981 mural is obviously kept in good repair - good to see!
The event was first organized in 2003. During the “ Plovdiv is Reading” Days publishing houses from all over Bulgaria present their production. Readings, book presentations, bazaars will be organized – located in the streets of Plovdiv as well as in the houses of the Old Town
Bunarjik takes its name from the spring gushing from within its rocks. It is 234 meters above sea level and here you will find two important parts of the city's past: the monument to Russian Czar Alexander II and Alyousha. At one time, the Greeks erected a statue of Hercales here, which was preserved in their Philippopolis coin.

This is ideally located, minutes walk from the Old City and the corner location with its bright red signage makes it easy to find.
