Please help. My family and I, 5 people travelling to Pampovoro 30/1/10 but no duvets or sheets in appartment.
Do not want to bring duvets on flight but will not have time for shopping in Plovdiv.
Am wondering if a supplier could leave the bedclothes for collection at Plovdiv airport for me to collect on arrival there. I can pay on receiving the package or through Paypal.
Thank you,
Maria
The place you are renting presumably expects people to arrive in Pamporovo/Bulgaria by car, it would be one thing to have to pack sheets and towels, but to have to bring blankets and quilts (not everybody will understand "duvet", btw) seems a bit ridiculous! Are you sure the person you are renting from could not hire/sell these to you? They would be best placed to have them delivered, also.
I don't see how anybody can deliver to Plovdiv airport, it is not allowed to leave unaccompaned parcels at airports these days! I think you may either have to make time for shopping in Plovdiv, e.g. take a taxi to Metro (http://www.metro.bg/pages/3111.aspx?1&st=13) or find an online source in Bulgaria who will deliver to somewhere you can pick up from; but I don't quite see them including the service of delivery to the airport, and hanging around to meet you in person.
Surely it would be easier and more convenient for everyone involved to just ask the apartment's owner to buy you some sheets and add the cost to the rental price? I can't imagine that any shop would find it worthwhile to deliver them to the airport (and I doubt the airport would look too kindly on someone delivering mysterious packages to be picked up by arriving passengers!)
I'm in the hospitality/accommodation industry. We provide everything. But some of our apartments are rented through outside agents who don't. People have to either hire or bring their own linen etc. It is cheaper to rent that way.....but why the hell would you want to go on holidays and do that!!!! To save a few dollars? You get what you pay for......I just love the travelling public (not)....tightarses that is. Most of our guests understand that the price they pay INCLUDES such essentials as sheets, soap and good service.....but if you want to save a dollar...in the end it will cost you much, much more.
We fly to Europe from California often and rent houses. If there are no linens, the owner always cheerfully rents them to us for the week. Admittedly, we look for places that supply linens, but if it's a nice place, we will cheerfully rent them. It's usually a very reasonable fee.
We do carry face cloths though. They either don't have them or have face mitts that we don't like. It's easy enough to pack a washcloth in a small plastic sandwich bag. Then you can pack them even if they are damp. You may wish to do this.

You can buy a map of Plovdiv from some newspaper kiosks, bookstores, gas stations, stores etc. Probably you can find it for free in some of the hotels.
I'm sharing a website called where you can find locations in Plovdiv, the other bigger cities and also routes in Bulgaria.

The housemuseums are located inside the 19 th cenury ‘baroque’ or Renaissance or National Revival houses. These houses are characterized by overhanging second storeys, an entrance with columns and brightly coloured fronts. There is a huge amount of these houses in old town. If you are into details of national revival architecture or a furniture lover you may like to visit all the houses, but to get a satisfying impression you can visit two or three. Then visit the most important ones such as the Etnografical museum and the Danov house. The entrance fees are about 2 lev for each museum so it can get expensive if you visit them all. Displays are only in Bulgarian.
