Run by a young British couple, Gregory's is possibly the most laid back place I've ever stayed. The hostel itself is a little way out from Varna, in a tiny village called Zvezditsa. Don't let that even cross your mind though when making your decision - they run frequent mini buses into town, so you never have to use public transport.
The rooms are clean and airy, because everything's brand new. There's loads of homey touches, and they have a decent bar where they basically hang out with their guests and have a few beers.
There's internet in the lobby, and a selection of DVDs to watch for free. There's also a PS2, pool table, dartboard, and snack menu. In short, it's a great place to relax and hang out when all that Eastern European-ness is starting to grind you down!
Unique Quality: The atmosphere is fantastic. As I mentioned, the couple running the place are really friendly and are happy drinking and socialising with the guests. So it feels like hanging out at a mate's house rather than staying in a hostel.
Directions: A 36 bus runs out to Zvezditsa, but don't worry, they arrange pick ups from the station.
