renting an apartment is a good way to spread yourself out and self cater

they can organise apartments
we got one at no 7 ekzerh josif right in the centre for 30 euros a night
it was a one bed apartment but very big and could sleep more on the sofa

Briz 2: Close to the beach

I liked it a lot,I was there just one night in September,but it was wonderful.One of the greatest things was the breakfast-there was everything.

Unique Quality: The hotel has very nice air-conditioned rooms and appartaments,two conference halls, each seating 30, offer all modern conveniences necessary to hold business events.
Each hotel room is equipped with local cable TV, Internet, telephone, mini-bar, bathroom with shower cabin and functional furniture. The balconies provide an incredible view to the sea. If you don’t feel like walking to the sea, you can stretch on a personal deck chair by the pool with a cup of coffee or refreshing orange juice from the outdoor bar or take a walk in the manicured park. If you do decide to descend to the beach, it will take you only 5 minutes.

2* Private accomodation: Villa Iliana

We did stay 5 nights in this guesthouse. Beautiful villa in small village close to Varna - St.Constantine and Helena Resort.
This villa was only 1000 meters from the warm and clean Black See.
Very clean, very friendly accommodation - and very good restaurant with low price only 50 meters from the villa.
I recommend this place as very safe accommodation for women traveling alone or for families with children.

Unique Quality: Apartments with kitchen, refrigerator - furnished in tipical Bulgarian style.

Hotel City Mark: Good central option

Ended up here as I was just tired of running around and trying to find room. Although this was only the 2nd place i tried in Varna, I spent 2 hours in vain in Obzor.
Rooms are quite comfy, with aircon, tv and minibar. Windows are soundproof, so you don't get any noise from the busy square.
The receptionists were all exceptionally friendly.

Black Sea Hotel/ Cherno More Hotel: Always room here

Impossible to miss Black Sea Hotel is located at the crossroads of Slivnitsa and Kynaz Boris I, 14 stories high (I think!) it has reasonable rates (although cheaper if you pay in dollars) and moody staff. There is a cocktail bar on the top floor and breakfast is included in the price.
The rooms are in need of some renovation the furniture have a definite ring of communist times to it, but otherwise comfortable.

Unique Quality: I can't imagine them ever being full

Villa Aquarius: Coastal luxury

We stumbled across this villa quite unintentionally in an unspoilt area outside the ever developing varna. For a mere 8 euro per night they offer tastefully furnished bedrooms and an even tastier all you can eat buffet breakfast.
This is a family run establishment, their english is limited but they strive to be of assistance where possible, they even phoned the train station for us - several times.
Nearby there is a deserted beach - not a sunlounger in sight.

Unique Quality: The villa has a pool and large back garden which serves as a perfect location for rest and relaxation. The general feel of the place is a far cry from the tacky golden sands resort further down the coastline.
Probably not suitable for those bringing a car with them, potholes galore in the region could prove problematic.

Nightmare. The hotel was brand new, built in July 2004, but with so many defectiveness that the stay was really awful . So stay away from this hotel.
