This "Pansion" is a great alternative to the more expensive hotels in town. After having read reviews about the Tourist hotel I was unsure whether to book in advance or just look for a place to stay once in Varazdin. I was pleasently surprise to find that there are many hotels and guesthouses not found online to chose from.
My stay in Pansion Maltar was very pleasant, the staff are very helpful and very friendly. I thought the price was very fair at 60 euros for a double room (not per person), breakfast is included and it comprises of loads of bread, spreads, hot drinks, orange juice, youghurt, eggs and fruit, enough to keep you going until the evening.
The Pansion offers a great breakfast included in the price, the rooms are very clean and hotel like. Staff very friendly. The pansion has a bar on the ground floor for guest and locals.
I've not stayed in any because I rented a house here. Many times I've been into the hotel Turinst, the pansione Maltar and gostionica Grenadier. All are good simple places, clean, functional, comfortable and inexpensive compared to most of Europe. The message is ... Don't worry about any sort of accommodation in Varazdin, you won't end up in a flea pit.
All accommodation is based in or around the town centre so everything is within a few minutes walk. There's nothing special about the accommodation, they are all OK and provide a comfortable place to stay whilst you investigate this beautiful little city.
This rather small pansion in the very heart of the city offers good and not expensive accomodation. Besides rooms it offers food in the own restaurant which is inexpensive.
The pansion is situated opposite to the hotel "Turist", the biggest and the best hotel in the town. You can compare the prices and make your choice.
