Apartments Bacan Cavtat

I think this was a VT tip.

It was fine - clean, quiet and comfortable, but a typical beach resort apartment. Small dining kitchen as well as a double bedroom.

Didn't use the TV, but they do have free wifi. You have a small supermarket about 50m away to stock up your fridge. The beach & harbour are about 250m away.

Cost was Kn 350 (€41) for the night.

Unique Quality: Value for money.

Directions: It's on the main road into town from the N8 airport road.

During 2 1/2 weeks of travelling around the Balkans, this was the most expensive place I stayed. 25 Euros ;-) But absolutely worth it! 4 people could easily have stayed in the apartment, two in the double bed in the bedroom, and two in the couch / double bed in the kitchen.

I paid the low season rate. The price rises closer to summer, and in the peak season, July and August, it is 450 Kuna per night. In addition there is a tourist tax per person per night which is also varies with the season, from 0,60 to 1 Euro.

The kitchen contains everything you need to do be self catered, and the bathroom is clean and spacious. A nice little detail in the bathroom is the rack for drying your laundry (pic. 5).

The young couple who runs the place are very friendly, they picked me up at the intersection with the main road between Montenegro and Dubrovnik, and drove me to the airport upon departure for 10 Euros (appr. 5 km.) They also let me borrow their compiuter for free, although there is a price list for internet use on the desk (45 Kuna per hour, if I remember right).

We have stayed at Apartments Bacan - nice, clean and friendly place with reasonable prices ten minutes walk from the old part of Cavtat and hotel Croatia. All apartments are air-conditioned - our had a terrace with amazing seaview. The owners arranged airport pick up for us and they were very nice helping us get around. We've spent great vacation and felt like at home.

Directions: Cavtat is a small town 17km south from Dubrovnik (good bus and boat connections) and only 5km distance from Dubrovnik Airport.
