How much (Euros) it would be to
1) Take a taxi from DBV airport to Dubrovnik downtown?
2) Take airport shuttle from DBV to downtown?
Do taxi drivers use meters in Croatia (including Zagreb)? Do we need to pay them tip?
Thanks for any help!

So when someone from Dubrovnik invites you to a drink or a cup of coffee, don't expect that to be a short thing, lasting an hour tops for you will be shocked. There is a saying “it lasts until it lasts”.
Unprepared, you accept the invitation and go out for a cup of coffee in the early afternoon and after about 10 minutes you finished your coffee and you notice your host still sitting comfortably in his/her chair, relaxed to a maximum, just watching the world passing by and slowly sipping on his/hers almost full cup, and you think to yourself strange?!”, but then after 15 minutes more you notice that neither your host nor people sitting in the tables around you are taking no hurry. They are acting if they had no business whatsoever in the world except to sit here and sip slowly on their coffee… and this lasts until the ritual is over just as that proverb says: “it lasts until it lasts”… And that is exactly how it goes around here, when going out, for a coffee, a drink or even a walk with someone from Dubrovnik, there is no rush, as if all else fades in marginality, all problems vanish into fresh air, just like you are in heaven and the time has stopped, the way to do it is just to relax and enjoy your stay…
And finally when the dinner, coffee, drink comes to an end and it's time to pay the bill, forget about the splitting the bill, the account will be paid by one person, the one that made the invitation, depending on the situation and the other persons will have their chance to pay the bill next time...
Amazing is the first word spoken when sighting the bridge. Then a stream of words flow out, beautiful, unbelievable, expansive, modern wonder, and in this area so near an ancient walled city. But, there it stood.
A tribute to modern man that adds a little punch to the coastline of the Dalmatian Islands. Just a little north-west of the town, one of the largest stay cable bridges in Europe, Dr. Franjo Tudjmann Bridge, on the main road to the old town of Dubrovnik. Take a boat ride and see it from the sea for a full view of this modern marvel.
The noble houses and palaces, inside the old core of the town, are adorned with the carved stone made coat of arms of exceptional beauty. Because of limitated space inside the city walls, most of the houses look alike and you wont see many fancy palaces in Dubrovnik. The locations of the house and it proportion, however, indicates the position which the owner had in the local society.
The Old Town is a great place for a stroll and despite the somewhat chilly weather, there were plenty of people (mostly locals this time of year) out walking around. I saw some people just walking up and down Stradun, the main street in the Old Town. The sidewalk cafes and shops always attract a crowd and make for a beautiful atmosphere and great people watching.
