The Hilton

Staying for few days in this city I thought it should be a special place.
It is nice during a holiday to have also some of the days in a good class hotel so in every holiday you have also some little honeymoon ;-) For Dubrovnik we choose the Hilton, here it called Hilton Imperial from the old day's of Yugoslavia. Original this was old communist hotel where the party leaders and rich could afford it, you can see some of the old architecture of it and even if now it is renovated and owned by the international company it still have some of the old feelings in it.

Unique Quality: Excellent location just by the old city.

Excellent hotel in a great location

We honestly were a little reluctant to stay here due to the prices, but we're glad we did. The hotel and the staff were first rate. We asked about the history of the hotel, and left with a folder full of information and pictures. Nothing was too much.

Unique Quality: We were put on the executive floor and our room had a balcony that looked out over the old town and the sea. We would sit there at night and just enjoy the sights

Fantastic place to stay!

This hotel was RIGHT on the old city walls, and right by the bus stop if you want to get the bus to the new harbour. The bus transfers from the airport stop right outside, and the service and Breakfast.....I would have moved in if I could!

Unique Quality: Fantastic service, breakfast and gym / pool facilities as well as an excellent location

5 star style

5* hotels aren't really our usual holiday style - as you'll see if you check out the rest of the hotel tips on this Dubrovnik page, but sometimes we like to splurge and, when we do, the place that tempts us to do so has to have something special to offer. In the case of the Dubrovnik Imperial Place Hilton, that something special began with the fantastic location, just two minutes walk from the Pile gate entrance into the old city and the easiest of access with our hire car pickup and drop-off available at the hotel. Being met by courteous and helpful staff, and gorgeous views of the city walls from the main terrace and hotel lounge ... it just got better and better. A spacious, comfortable room decorated in warm tones of soft terracotta and sage green that complemented and picked up the colours of the view from the window (we looked out to the hillls behind Dubrovnik, not the sea) and a lavish breakfast eaten outdoors on a garden terrace all added to the amenities and made staying here something we'd be more than happy to recommend to others.

Unique Quality: Although there are any number of rooms and small apartments available within the walls of Dubrovnik's Old City, there's only one luxury hotel - the Hotel Pucic, with just 19 rooms. The next best thing ( for anyone considering staying in a 5* hotel) has to be the newly refurbished Dubrovnik Hilton Imperial. The location couldn't be better, the Pile Gate entrance to the Old City is no more than a 100 metre walk - perfect for making your way back to your room for a mid-afternoon siesta when the heat of a summer's day and the crowds that throng the city's historic centre make a little escape just the thing to set you up to enjoy the pleasures of a balmy Dubrovnik evening.

The 19th century building started its life as a nobleman's palace before being converted into a hotel in the years before WWI (Dubrovnik was a top tourist destination even then). The refurbishment has recreated all the elegance and style of those imperial days, plus introduced the facilities expected of a modern 5*hotel - indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, high speed internet, business centre, air conditioning, etc, etc.

Luxury and Location

Unique Quality: Far beyond our budget to stay here, the Hilton Imperial is a luxury hotel with prime location just steps from the Pile Gate entrance to the old city of Dubrovnik. The second pic shows how close it is to teh city walls. Very few hotels are inside the city walls - I did ses one but was equally as luxurious and expensive. Rooms and apartments can be found in the city centre though if you really want to be right in the centre - although lots of steep steps will need to be negoiated with your luggage.

Dubrovnik Hilton - Superb elegance

We actually chose the Hilton because it was the only 4 or 5 star hotel which still had space available. This was actually a stroke of really good luck.

The hotel is perfectly located just outside the City Walls (a few steps from the Pile Gate). The service is fantastic and the rooms very comfortable indeed - just as you would expect from a Hilton.

I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.

The Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik ...a hidden gem

by A TripAdvisor Member

We chose the Hilton Dubrovnik for a six day break with our two young boys ( seven and nine) having heard varying reviews about the area, resort and hotel (from people supposedly in the know!)

The area was stunning, the city of dubrovnik breathtaking and the hotel, and most importantly the staff, exceptional

Even when it rained there was a superb and permanently deserted pool in which the kids amused themselves

A great destination that exceeded our expectations

p.s my lads rate the poklaris restaurant in the old port as being in their top 5 ever greatest restaurants ever visited (super pizza and seafood)

absolutely fantastic simply fabulous

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and loved every second of it. We were fortunate enough to book a room with privilege to the executive lounge and enjoyed the unlimited access of refreshments at any time of the day immensely. The proximity of the hotel to the magnificent Old Town guaranteed convenience and fun. Whether it was a morning walk along the Old City Walls or an evening stroll to the Old Town Square, Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik provided the backdrop for an experience of magic.

Really Nice Hotel - Great Location, Great Staff

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik for 4 nights in May. I am a Hilton Gold member and they especially treated us right. The Hilton team has done a great job on renovating this hotel! Very clean, rooms are nice if a bit small....but with all of the things you want: shower / tub, minibar, etc. I would try to ask for a sea view room with a balcony. We were on the 1st Floor and had a very nice sized balcony with two chairs. It was great for lounging with a drink after a few hours of sightseeing. Breakfast buffet was very complete and good. Location is great - right outside the Pile Gate. Although I would encourage ALL VISITORS to walk around the city - walk over to the Copacabana Beach, for example....around the harbor, etc. All of Croatia is VERY SAFE - never felt unsafe at all - in Hvar, Dubrovnik or Split. BTW - If you are a Hilton Gold and have access to the great executive lounge...USE IT! The staff is wonderful, the food and drink is great, and the view from the balcony tremendous. We would certainly return and stay. Good work, Hilton!

Simply the best

Beautiful hotel in a great location with views of Dubrovnik - this must be the best Hilton in the world.

We were upgraded to an executive room with access to the lounge so we had a sun drenched balcony overlooking the Adriatic. The lounge provided complimentary breakfast on the balcony, various foods during the day and a free bar from around 5PM. The staff are all great, very friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities are open 24 hours and are of a very good standard.

Only minutes away from the old town but thing about taking a days cruise around the islands - most are deserted and very beautiful. We'll be back

Hotel Rooms in Hvar & Dubrovnik

by ag1975

We have decided to stay at the Riva 4 (Hvar) & Hilton Imperial (Dubrovnik)...I have contacted each hotel directly and have also looked on a few "discount" travel websites (i.e. expedia, travelocity, orbitz, adriatica-net, etc) have not really found a big price difference! Are there any other websites out there with discount hotel prices? Maybe I'm just better off booking directly with the hotels!
Thank you in advance!

we've also booked those two for May. The Hilton Imperial website has an advanced purchase web rate which was pretty good. We used the suncani website for the Riva.

Hi,
In Croatia you have so much beautiful private accomodation, rooms , appartments, which save your money and you feel like at home.
Try to contact lady Jagoda Bracanovic on virgilye@yahoo.com
She will contact you with friends in Korcula and Dubrovnik also.
The price is beetven 100-120 kuna per person per nights.

I can sugest www.rentadriatic.com
It's in Korcula, but that could be better choice than Hvar. The site is of the owners, so that the prices are lower than on adriatica.net (about 30 %) And the place is stunning.
