So clean, so quiet! Lovely!
I'm typing this from the free internet supplied by the Ariston hotel. We're here in October 2007, the resort is quiet, everything is almost perfect, as far as service and food goes. This resort is the perfect place to unwind, and yet still be able to access the old town (15 minutes by bus). There is a cafe area, which looks out onto the Adriatic coast, where you can watch the sunsets, while drinking and eating at a reasonable price (we did this on our first night). Our room has been clean, new towels every day, a balcony, which while it doesn't have the best view in the world, is still good (go to the first floor, rather than the ground!), the weather has been wonderful, the pools are cleaned out every day. It has been great!
Unique Quality: The hotel has two pools, a gym, and many other facilities. The hotel has been recently refurbished. If you look at the pictures on the official website, the high rise part is the Hotel Neptun, the building that joins onto that is the Ariston, and further along are the Suites. Everyone shares the pools, and other facilities - the gym is free, though to use the massage room costs. We didn't get to use either, as we did lots of swimming!
The resort is right by the sea - though there's no beach. You can dive into the sea, and there's ladders to bring yourself back to the pool area. The sea is approx 5m deep at this level - and there's no current. It's cordoned off from the main sea, so you're clear of boats.
